I wear a size 9, so bought a 9.5, hoping they wouldn’t be too big. They are just a little big, but not so much that it bothers me. I do have wide feet and a high instep so bought these specifically because of the wide toe box. My feet are very comfortable. I’ve used them in the pool for water aerobics and in the lake. I will say they collected a lot of sand in the lake. I’m not sure if this is normal for a pair of water shoes as these are my first. My feet were protected from rocks and such.     • Extremely flexible and quality appears good upon arrival inspection.
Clearly, this is a well-made water shoe. If you like flexibility, you will like this. The toe box isn't actually separate toes, the external sole is the primary visual appearance of the toes.. While there is a small thin insole, it gives really no support but does add a little bit of protection stepping on rocks or shells. The cord surrounding the ankle is a nice touch to keep the water shoe from slipping off but it's not terribly tight if your foot gets stuck in the mud or under a rock. I like the wide toebox and for that reason I ordered a size 10 (44) when I normally wear a 9 1/2. I also ordered a size 9 1/2 (43) and while the toe box maybe slightly smaller, size 10 is definitely too long and there's a gap from my heel to the back of the water shoe giving the shoe a "clown-type" shoe effect. That 10 (44) will be returned. In addition, I ordered a Speedo water shoe, reviewed separately. Recommendation: the size 9 1/2 (43) was the correct call after all and I'd recommend this shoe for its style and reasonable (3+ star) Comfort simply by walking around the house. Your mileage may vary at the pool, beach or snorkeling. If you have to walk significant distances to get to your water sport, I doubt you will feel comfortable until you get in the water. I needed beach shoes for an trip that was planned and found these at Amazon. They shipped fast and the quality exceeded what I expected for the price. I used them for both surf fishing and on the pier. They were comfortable, well sized ( I have wide feet ) on the insole was great. After a week of hard use, they show very little wear and tear! Took these to a river/waterpark trip and they held up great! No holes at the join between the rubber bottom and top fabric. Nice and grippy against slippery water floors. They dried fast because the fabric is nice and breathable so there was nothing in them to hold onto moisture. The design meant that the tops of my feet stayed sunburn-free, and the smooth collar kept the elastic closure from rubbing against my ankle--no blisters. Sizing was slightly smaller than expected, but because the fabric is stretchy, it was no problem. I got the blue, which easily stood out against the other water shoes and made it easy to find mine. It kept its bright color with no bleaching. There is, of course, no arch support or thick foam or anything like that which would make these especially comfortable to walk in, but for floating, swimming, and the occasional bit of walking, they did great! I appreciate the low price since I've had to buy last minute shoes from a waterpark before, which cost a lot more and performed much worse. These are a great option if you're planning a summer trip! ... show more

The heal is nice and grippy, the toe box nice and wide, and the cinch is fine... The problem with me, and this is a RARE problem 99% of other people won't run into, the ankle sits way too low and is just on edge of the ball of the heal. Doesn't really stay on, had to remove the insole to reclaim like a quarter of an inch, and even then it barely rests on the Achilles. Again a me problem, but a big problem. Get wider cordage for the draw string since, OWE... Also put a pony bead on the draw string and then the cinch. since when you go to loosen it, and if you go to the end it gets hard to grab the elastic and tighten it again. I don't have nails. So, the insoles, I like the idea of them, not too uncomfy given their weird hex prism "padding" texture. BUT, it still needs perforations in the grooves for easier water dispelling. I get that the grooves are supposed to do that, but, personally I'd like to have all 3 axis for water expulsion, top, sides, bottom. I don't hate them. I just don't love them. Also they seem to run big. Should get the gray EU 42, in soon. Though, I do love the colors and makes them easy to find. Not too garish or effeminate. Acid Blue is very neutral. ... show more
