For the money I expected actual toys. The characters and their accessories are made from plastic but all the boxes and other pieces are cardboard. My son is enjoying it but he didn’t have to pay for it. That’s a lot of money for something that will soon be recycled.

    • Very disappointing, Extremely Overpriced
I blame myself for not reading the reviews before ordering but at day 3, I'm disappointed. Day one and two: Steve and a hat for him, "cool"... day 3 a cardboard block that is impossible for a child to assemble and full of frustration for an adult. Checked the box and realize it is going to be mostly thin cardboard that I don't see making it more than 5 days if your child actually tries to play with it... you can make a cute scene over the month if you just put it up and don't touch it. Certainly not something that I see bringing us joy as we count down to Christmas. Gave it two stars on giftable because it is exciting for a minecraft lover to receive it but expect a let down! As I'm writing this review my son (9 years old) is trying to pop out the back decorations to make the scene. He popped out one of the cardboard shapes and it felt down where he can't get to it without ruining the surprise on the other days, starts to try the fence and says, "oh it ripped"... a few seconds later "I've got to be more careful" a few seconds later... "mom this is garbage". I think that about says it all. ... show more

    • Almost every day is just small pieces of folded cardboard
There are very few actual things in this calendar. The vast majority of the days have seen my son opening a paper flap to reveal small foldable paper boxes with a crafting table or furnace designs on them. Not a huge value when compared to other small daily gift advent calendars.

This set has so much cardboard , I’m even keeping the toys in cardboard. I recommend this to a hamster , missing zombie body Figures don’t stand and they could have had a villager with the boat

    • Not worth the money
I have three boys and I got them each an advent calendar according to their specific likes. One LEGO, one Pokémon and this Minecraft one. Everyday it is so hard because it's my kiddo who is not neurotypical who received the Minecraft one and more days than that he opens up foldable tiny cardboard boxes while the other two are getting cool pokémon figures and Lego builds. There are only a couple characters whereas the other calendars are getting characters every day. It seems so unfair to my one kiddo with this calendar. And I paid the same amount of money for all of the calendars, so I would expect them to be of the same quality. Definitely not the case. In my opinion definitely not worth the money! ... show more

I purchased this advent calendar for $25. Great disappointment with cost and value when I realized that most of the gifts will be flat paper items that need to be folded and taped together. The figure Steve is plastic but it is very delicate, once it takes a fall it will most likely break. There is little that will be able to be played with more than once. Comparatively, fast food toys would be considered high quality. With all that said, my son does seem to like it. But as a parent I would rather spend my monies on items that won’t need discarded so shortly after gifting. ... show more

Hey you! If you are looking at buying this, don’t! Seriously. I can forgive away a lot of stuff, but this is truly terrible. My easy to please 6-year-old even said, “I thought this would be better” when opening today’s door. A lot of money for cardboard cutouts. The bow and arrow we got a couple days ago is so tiny (so tiny!) and barely stays in the character’s hand. Greedy greedy greedy. ... show more

As the others reviewers have mentioned this calendar is a waste of money. Almost everyday is a card board cut out. My son did get anything for day 12. My son is so disappointed.
