I bought this item cos I am a very busy Ph.D. Student and mom and wanted to cook food and save for later for my family. I was so excited to use it but when my husband made me breakfast today and kept in the bowl, it was ice cold barely 2 hours later when I was having breakfast. I am so disappointed as I only bought it because I loved that it keeps food warm according to the website description. Other than that, it looks sturdy and it’s very beautiful. I love these thermal serving dishes. They work so well. Keeps food hot for hours. Don't try to stick it in the fridge to store the left overs. The interior doesn't get cold in the fridge. Unfortunately if I could give it zero stars I would. I ordered these dishes to be able to carry cooked food to and from, over the holidays. But when the box arrived I could smell a terrible musty smell, but thought if I give them a good ( hand washing ) and air dry for as long as it took, I’d get the smell out. Over 3 days I tried everything to get rid of the musty smell. Nothing was working. When I prepped the bowls ( added hot water to the bowl) and secured the lid, to warm the bowl up, the musty smell got worse. I decided the day before I couldn’t take the chance with the smell getting into the food. So I will be returning these. Hopefully the return center takes these back, because the smell from the original packaging and box is so strong. ... show more
