    • Build quality is excellent, compressor is very quiet!
This is my 6th airbrush. I started in the '70s. All my brushes still work. I am a light-use but picky modeler. I bought this because I wanted a portable brush without the hassle of a dedicated compressor and hose. I also wanted quiet use and a battery gauge. The Build quality is excellent. Everything fits nicely. The needle seems a bit thinner than some others I have, but was finished perfectly and had no roughness on the pointed end as most cheap brushes have. When activated the compressor stays on but does not release air unless the trigger is pushed down. This is a dual-action brush and the needle is limited by the position of the nob at the end of the brush. It must be loosened to allow the trigger to move back or you will get no paint. My first test was with Woodland Scenics earth undercoat C1229. It is NOT actually an airbrush quality paint. I mixed it about 50/50 with homemade thinner and used the smallest cup. The overall pattern was nice and constant. I did notice some occasional spatter when pressing the trigger but only then. This was not unexpected with this paint quality. The thinner was distilled water mixed about 3 to 1 with 70% isopropyl alcohol and a small amount of super green. ( Check the YTube channel Barbatos Rex for the recipe and lots of paint reviews) I had no clogs of paint buildup in the tip. I cleaned the brush with VERY hot water and 70% alcohol and a bit of Simple Green. The needle came out totally paint free. I unscrewed the paint cup and flushed the threads with hot water a few times. Then I blasted air to dry the brush. The total time to clean was maybe two minutes. Beginners need to note that the threads on the parts are very fine and must be handled carefully. Also, note the USB C charging device needs to be limited to no more than 2 amps max or battery damage will happen. I would like to see a larger needle size or an adapter available so I can use my other brushes with the compressor. I have other adapters but none fit. Overall, I'm very impressed and looking forward to trying some true airbrush paints with it. ... show more

I like the compressor which is why I bought the kit. It was on a lightning sale and had a $10 off coupon so I’m not complaining. There are a few things I don’t like. First when I saw the lightning sale Ad it clearly said 46psi which was amazing because I have 5 other cordless compressor/airbrush kits and they go to a max of 36 psi. When I got the unit it only goes to a max of 36psi!?!? So I checked the ad and the ad days up to 36psi which is very odd because the ad clicked to buy said 46psi so I immediately jumped on it. I also sent the lightning deal to a fellow artist friend who replied wow it goes to 46 psi!! And he also immediately bought it. I just got a call from him and he said hey I this was supposed to go to 46psi and I said I know I was thinking the same thing, so I didn’t just read the ad wrong. They’ve changed the ad after the lightning deal ended. It’s fine for the price but I already have many 36psi kits. I only bought this because the ad said 46psi. Same with my friend!! I wished I had taken a screen shot of the ad. It never occurred to me they would bait and switch the ad after the “deal”. Not legal selling practices Amazon!!! That said it works fine. The airbrush is a little stiff and good for beginners but I’ll be putting my iwata on the compressor. Also I assumed, dumb on my part, that for this price (over $30) ot was a double action airbrush and compressor, it isn’t! I have a couple other cordless kits I’ve pod roughly the same price and they Are double action. This is a single action set air is constantly flowing. Not a deal breaker because I like the led screen and I use these professionally so I can never have too many of them. I like that it’s usb c charging several of my others aren’t. It’s ok just not what I wanted and definitely Not what I ordered however for the deal cost and coupon I’ll keep it. Beware in my opinion it is not worth the full price of $59. In fact I wouldn’t buy it over $42 which is what I paid. The airbrush is not good. Still and on the lower end of generic airbrushes. But the compressor is decent. Hope this helps ... show more

    • Not dual action.. UPDATED
Update: great customer service to help solve any problems. The hose adapter must be installed to make the double action function although you do have to manually pull the button back up to stop air flow it will not stop when you life your finger. Even so the constant air flow is solved by installing the host adapter. Airbrush constantly shoots air. The button to press down for air doesn’t do anything you can shoot paint regardless if it’s up or down and it constantly shoots air. Thought the first one was defective so sent back. Replacement does the same thing ... show more

    • Nice Airbrush For Beginners
I am just beginning to learn airbrushing. This comes with everything that you need to get started. I like that it’s easy to charge and see how much usage you have left. It is easy in the hand to hold. It takes a little getting used to pressing the knob down for air, and then pulling it back gently for releasing the paint, but I’m sure that will come with time and practice. I wish that the instructions told you how to turn the knob in the back as it seems that that doesn’t do anything either way that I turn it. For the most part, though the instruction manual is good and even gives you tips for how to use the paints so as not to clog the machine. I also wish there was information on how to replace a damaged needle, or if there are other needle sizes available to get for this gun. ... show more

I was looking for an airbrush to paint my cakes and I really liked the idea of having a cordless one. It is super light and has been perfect for painting my cakes. It has three psi settings, and can be adjusted to spray the proper amount of product. I have used it three times without any problem. I have been using it with for both synthetic and natural food coloring without problems at all. It is easy to clean right after you use it.
