Description

MFM Peel & Seal is the original, patented self-stick roll roofing. Peel & Seal roll roofing is 33ft. 6in. long and is ideal for roofs and surfaces that are difficult to waterproof and can be used on many surfaces including: metal roofs, mobile homes, RVs or trailers, and sunroofs. MFM Peel & Seal can also be used as flashing around ducts, vents, chimneys, air conditioning units, or even on gutters. MFM Peel & Seal is made of aluminum composite foil, polymer films, and a rubberized asphalt adhesive back, making it flexible and self- adhering. Peel & Seal roll roofing will not tear, crack or dry out over time. It is designed specifically to reflect heat and resist water and exposure to other elements without any additional coverage needed. Peel and Seal can be installed on an EPDM roof, but you must prime it with either WeatherBond Multi Purpose Primer or Mule Hide Tape Primer. This self-adhering rolled roofing is very simple to install. Simply make sure your surface is clean, smooth, dry and free of any loose debris. Be sure to prime your surface with an asphalt primer before applying Peel & Seal, especially on surfaces made of plywood, OSB, composition board, and masonry. After the roof is prepped, you will simply peel off the release paper on the back of your peel and seal, and roll it out onto your surface, using a hand roller to smooth out any creases. Finally, use a sharp knife to cut off the desired length. 36in. Wide Rolls have 3in. lines on each side. No special tools needed. High wind tolerance. Made in the U.S.A. Also Tested to Meet ASTM D 1970 Requirements.

  • Great product.
I had a roofing supplier recommend this to me for use in a new shed. Install couldn't be easier. It just rolls on and sticks. You DO need to use an asphalt primer for installation on plywood. I wish they bundled the mfm prime a seal with this. I ended up using a spray primer from Home Depot. The best part about this is that it works on a low slope. Down to 1/2" per foot. Shingles and roll roofing are 2 to 3 in 12. Make sure the roof is clean and primed. Take your time to keep it straight. Use a roller to roll it flat. Do it on a warm day. Inexpensive, easy to install and a 10 year warranty. I can't complain. ... show more

  • Great product - but installation can be tricky
I've used this product several times on buildings that I own with flat roofs. It is expensive but is also high in quality, so you get what you pay for. I have always had to install it by myself which is quite challenging. Having one or two helpers would make a huge difference, but here is what I learned during my solo installs..... 1. Get the roof surface as clean as possible (a leaf blower works great), and when applying over existing rolled roofing always use a roofing primer to clean and prepare the surface before adhering. This primer is very expensive but it's worth it. 2. It is very hard to keep the roll going in a straight line by yourself. On longer runs I've had to cut it into sections of 8-10 feet to be manageable. With a helper you could probably do a full 33-foot run. 3. Try to install on a warm day but not when it is super hot out and also not too windy. The adhesive is VERY STRONG (which is good), but if the roll folds and adheres to itself it is very tough to pull it back apart. 4. Unroll and peel small sections at a time and use a roller to avoid getting air bubbles beneath the surface. Any bubbles are very tough to get out once they form. Make sure the edges and seams where pieces overlap are given extra attention with the roller. Having a helper pull on the roll to keep it tight would be a huge help. Once this stuff is stuck down and rolled you can't pull it back up to remove air bubbles even if you want to. ... show more

  • Comes very wrinkled, purple lines on both sides.
I did not like much of anything about this product, It's not smooth when it comes out of the Box, it's full of wrinkles, It has purple lines on both sides instead of just one side for your overlap, It States that you can Install it up to a 110゚weather But if you don't install it when it's about 65° the adhesion gets so gunky and sticky that the paper will not peel off of it when you roll it out. Our carport is less than 500 sq ft, we ordered 5 boxes and still fell short, each box claims to cover 100 square ft. Overall I am not happy with this product. I honestly can't say much good about it. I would not recommend it. ... show more
