  • 2012 Hyundai Sonata
Style: With Micro B Connector
Easy to do when you’re installing an aftermarket stereo - would be just as easy afterwards but you would be doing double work. The Sonata automatically programmed after pushing the volume up button for a few seconds. All stereo buttons work now with the Alpine ilxW650. Installation instructions were clearly written as expected for a quality US run brand. The car wires that needed to join the ACWS harness were thin with little slack and I soldered these connections. Would not have felt good about using a butt splice crimped connector on these thin wires. Got this on Amazon because they had the best price but got the stereo from Crutchfield. ... show more

  • Works well, but difficult to program
Style: With Micro B Connector
This device is exactly what it's supposed to do, and maintains the factory OEM steering wheel controls for the vehicles and aftermarket stereos. However, the instructions are not very clear, and leave openings for errors because of ambiguities. When I called their customer support, they are fantastic. Quick to respond, and willing to help in every way possible. However, that didn't correct programming. My recommendation is to read the instructions, and when things do not match, goof around with it, and it'll work. In the instructions, simple things like "the LED blinks rapidly" , should be changed to "the LED blinks red rapidly" because if you di it wrong, it'll be the other color and you'll be none-the-wiser. Great product overall, though. 2003 Volkswagen Passat to a 40$ Amazon stereo with android auto (brand naify isn't listed on the Amazon listing). ... show more

  • 2005 Toyota Camry JBL without Nav
Style: With Micro B Connector
All steering controls worked perfectly, easy instructions. You want to buy a 70-8114 to go with this for a 2005 Camry JBL without Nav. You use that kit instead of the wiring that comes with this one, then you don't have to cut into anything as the plug fits perfectly with the Camry plug. Very easy instructions, get some harness tape to help clean things up. ... show more

  • Great Quality & Durable!
Style: With Micro B Connector
This product was used during an installation on my 2007 Toyota Prius. It was used to wire up to my new aftermarket stereo, and gave me access to using the steering wheel interface to skip, pause, play, and listen to music of my preference as well as adjusting the volume. After about a year I noticed that the accessibility to the volume adjustment on the steering wheel would occasionally not function. Not sure if this was a wiring issue on my part, or faulty hardware underneath the buttons on the wheel. Either way, the product did its job well while I had it :). ... show more

  • If you know how, it will work with Chinese Android Head Units.
Style: With Micro B Connector
My typical Ford radio did what typical Ford radios do, fail to light up the LEDs so the time came to replace it. I replaced it with a typical Chinese Android head unit. The typical Chinese head unit did not come with any instructions. Typical. So I searched the internet regarding typical installation of Chinese Android head units. I found out I needed an interface, so I purchased a METRA AXTC-FD1 STEERING WHEEL CONTROL & ACCESSORY INTERFACE. Well with my typical luck this unit did not work so I called Metra. The nice people at Metra told me I bought the wrong interface. The interface I bought was only good for my car if I had the factory navigation unit. They told me I needed the ASWC-1 unit, so I purchased it. It went in really easy, but it too did not work. I called Metra back and explained it did not work. They told me the ASWC-1 was not designed to work with the Chinese Android units but if I tried to change the head unit manufacturer from the one recognized by the ASWC-1 to others on the compatibility list using the ASWC Configuration-Axxess Updater Program, by trial and error I might find one that would work. I went to the PAC Audio website. They sell a unit similar to the ASWC-1 called the SWI-RC-1. This unit does not automatically configure to the head unit, but instead, must be programmed using DIP switches. I looked at their compatibility list and found “2-Wired Resistive” and “Android Radio”. Both used the same settings. I then looked for a brand that used the same settings and that was also on the ASWC-1 compatibility list and found that Visteon used the same settings as the “Android Radio” on the PAC unit and was also on the ASWC-1 compatibility list. I set the ASWC-1 to recognize the head unit as a Visteon using the ASWC Configuration-Axxess Updater Program, reinstalled the head unit, programmed the head unit to recognize the buttons pressed on the steering wheel control and everything worked. In short to get this unit to work with a Chinese Android head unit: 1) Do all your wiring according to the instructions of the ASWC-1 and any information you can get regarding the head unit. 2) Install the ASWC-1 into the car and turn the car key to the on position. 3) Let the ASWC-1 recognize the car. 4) Turn off the car and remove the ASWC-1 unit. 5) Hook the ASWC-1 unit to your computer as per the instructions using a USB cable. 6) Boot up the ASWC Configuration-Axxess Updater Program. 7) Choose SWC Configuration then Visteon under the drop down menu. 8) Disconnect the ASWC-1 from your computer and re-install the ASWC-1 in your car. 9) On the head unit assign functions to each button. 10) Enjoy!!!! ... show more

  • Works like magic - see note on Gen 2 Prius and JVC head unit
Style: With Micro B Connector
It Just Works Impressively. Shipped with most recent firmware too (the little door over the microUSB port is a right bastard to get open) The instructions are overwhelming and somewhat contradictory; after reading them all I ignored everything and just wired it up and fired up the car. It did its "learn" dance and just worked The ding is because their "configurator" tool has a special note for "New JVC & Kenwood Radios", and a complicated PITA recommendation of first wiring up one way with a resistor, then after initial config, removing resistor and wiring up a different way I have a "new" JVC radio. I didn't do any of that and it just worked That special note needs more elaboration; it seems not to be necessary, at least not on the actually new JVC unit I used. ... show more
