I was looking to replace a pair of trail pace shoes and really needed the arch support. These have exceeded my expectations. The arch support I am accustomed to with Merrell is there, the sole is a bit sturdier than the older version. I don’t feel every rock and twig with each step. I went up a half size based on previous reviews and it is the perfect fit. I really love the extra support around the foot to help correct pronation. Still light weight and feels like walking on marshmallows. The colors are fabulous and I am very pleased with the purchase. I love this one even more!

They are a little narrow, so as someone with a wide foot I went a size up and that did make the arch support feel a little weird. I do like the amount of support around the ankle while allowing the toe to feel free and flexible. They are certainly not completely barefoot, if you're wanting that flatfoot zero feel go for the vapor glove. There is an arch in these but they soften out after a bit of walking. I do like these for hiking and more Backcountry outdoor trail stuff because it has more traction and more support. The vapor glove is very thin and you can feel every rock and pebble but this (trail glove) provides just enough that you're protected from the sharp and pokies. So if you're wanting complete barefoot do the vapor glove.

Bought as cycling shoes, would also wear for hiking. Pretty true to size, I usually wear a 6 to 6 1/2, purchased a 7 based on reviews. While a little bit more toe space at the end, I don’t mind because they are a bit narrow in width. Really difficult to get on my feet-use both thumbs to press the tongue sides against the shoe, then a shoe horn for the back-haha-being 59 years old is no joke! But once the shoe is on, it’s Cinderella at the ball! I’ve been wearing them for a few weeks now, still in love. They feel great, love the light arch support and the grippy treads.

I really wanted to like these, because they are cute hiking shoes, but they were very uncomfortable. When I tried them on and walked in them, they hurt my feet. I believe they are about a half size smaller than normal, and they have little to no padding in the footbed. My daughter, who wears a full size smaller shoe than I do, tried them on and found the fit comfortable with a little extra room in the toes. She took the shoes and has worn them as water shoes for white water rafting. I recommend sizing up a half size and purchasing insoles with arch support if you want a comfortable hiking shoes.

I used to have 3 pairs of the merrell glove 4 trial runners, loves them, lasted me for years. Finally wore them all out and got these. They are very narrow and PAINFUL! I wore them around the house for hours thinking they just needed to break in. Nope just as stiff by the end, and my feet couldn’t take it anymore. I was literally thinking “how fast can someone develop bunions?.. 😰”

I have been traveling the world for 9 years, and these are the BEST shoes! They are lightweight, comfortable, have a sturdy sole, and dry quickly. They are better than sandals because they keep my toes protected while moving through crowded street markets in India or while moving on/off trains in Indonesia. I even used these on a 4-day trek in Nepal. If you like a lightweight, versatile shoe for traveling, hiking, or trail running this is a great shoe. It is not very padded, so if you need a thick, cushy sole this shoe doesn't have that.

I have many pairs of the Trail Glove 5. I wear them because I have some nerve damage in my feet. I need the thin bare foot sole for better balance and walking ease. It is a great shoe. On the other hand, Trail Glove 6 is not the same shoe. It is much narrower shoe, with a bit more of a sole. It also has more of an arch. The arch doesn’t bother me, but the stiffness of the shoe needs wearing to break in. It is too bad Merrell can’t continue to make Trail Glove 5, since there are so many fans for a variety of reasons. Trail Glove 6 does not in any way replace Trail Glove 5!!

These are very light weight & comfortable, but I do have a narrow foot & high arch, so they would be too tight for a wide foot. It doesn't have a lot of padding, but they are fine for what I want.
