Bought these for backpacking and hiking because trail runners do not give me the arch and ankle support I need, and these are now the most comfortable pair of shoes i’ve ever owned for my extremely high arches. I know a lot of hikers who swear by merrells and now I understand! Get them!

These are the best hiking boots I have owned. I’m an Assistant Scout Master for a Troop of BSA scouts, and we spend lots of time hiking. These are sturdy, lightweight, comfortable and well made hiking boots. I wanted a pair that would safe guard against twisted angles, so I bought a pair that came up higher for angle support. I got these for walking in the city when the ground is wet, to keep my feet dry. I got them less than a month ago and I have already spent hours walking miles in them. I really loved the colors on these and have always been a huge fan of Merrell. Money was well spent took them out for some long hikes and definitely noticed a difference in my feet. Can hike further and helped prevent me from slipping. These are amazing!!

I purchased the Merrell Women's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot in size 8.5. For the past three years I have been hiking in a pair of Merrell “Salida” Mid boots - a model that is no longer available. So as my old pair began showing serious signs of wearing out (after an awesome high mileage life) I began the task of looking for a replacement. Full disclosure: I have a pair of Oboz hiking shoes in the rotation (for less challenging terrain), but I have found the ankle support of Merrell’s line of boots to be very good so wanted to look at Merrell first in replacing the mid-height pair. I read a lot of reviews about the Moab model. When I read that the heel support and vibram sole had been upgraded on the Moab 3, I decided to order a pair (in my usual size). They arrived promptly and the order was accurate. I put the Merrell Women's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot to the test almost right away, putting fifteen miles or so on them in two hikes in the semi-rugged terrain of the Sage Creek wilderness in the Badlands of South Dakota. I paired them with a good pair of wool hiking socks, BTW. I am pleased to report that as advertised, the Moab 3 boots were indeed “comfortable right out of the box”. They fit true-to-size. They stayed tied (!), performed well, offered great ankle support and a decently cushioned ride. At the end of my hikes the leg fatigue was at a minimum (a sure sign of good support) and my feet were blister-free. I am happy enough with this purchase that I ordered a second pair of the same model when I saw Amazon was offering them at a hard-to-pass-up price. I will set the second pair back for the future. In the meantime this happy hiker will be putting some serious mileage into my new Merrell Women's Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot. I highly recommend these boots! ... show more
