I have had this for 3-4 years now. It is still in good condition. Gives very good ankle support. I bought 1 size bigger than my usual size and the fit is comfortable and is not snug. I havenโ€™t had chance to test the water proof part of the shoe yet !

I have them tied just tight enough to stay on my foot but loose enough so I can slip in and out of them on days I need to run the dog out. I bought these particular merrells because they boasted a "Waterproof membrane". The waterproofing failed completely within months. It was clear that all they really have is a surface waterproof spray that wears off. For the first few months, they seemed great. Recently, I walked on wet grass. Not high grass, just wet. My feet were completely soaked and the boots are still too wet to wear days later. So, useless to pay more for the waterproof feature. But, aside from that, they fit well, are reasonably comfortable, and do have great grip in the mud. ... show more

Lightweight and comfortable. Had them on for a Global Big Day from 5 am to 9 pm and were comfortable all day. long! Didnโ€™t weigh like other boots. Bought them .5 size larger than I normally wear. I am very satisfied with my purchase!

There's nothing I dislike about these shoes. They're the best hiking shoes imaginable. Walked many miles in Costa Rica on wet rocks up and down a mountain. Never slid. My body hurt the next day, but my feet didn't. Stood in a shallow river and feet didn't get wet at all. Love these.
