My son needed size 6 hiking boots for his week at Boy Scout camp, which are a tough size to find instore. He tried on a pair of low top Merrell's at a local store and the fit was great, so I purchased these on Amazon. He wore them on a walk around the block before they got packed into his foot locker, and he wore them everyday at camp. He was excited that they were waterproof -- the last night of camp was a big rainstorm, complete with a Tornado warning (one touched down 20 miles from camp), so when they were able to return to their campsite from the shelter he was excited that his feet stayed dry through the puddles. Nice shoes, I wish they fit. They're well made and attractive, but the wide width is a C at best. I returned these. The search for real extra wide waterproof hiking boots for women continues.

We bought these for our daughter for a recent hiking trip. Sadly, the only option we could find in her size that looked like solid hiking boots were the "boys" brown color. She didn't mind the color at all. We chose the size 11 for our 4.5 year old and they fit well with room to grow. They had great grip on the toes to help her climb rocks. She splashed in puddles and said they kept her feet dry. One concern I have is that the laces seem thin and stretch a little bit when we tie them tightly. Those may need to be replaced eventually but they still seem like great quality hiking boots. ... show more

These are nice all-weather light hiking boots, but they run small and narrow. We ordered wide and sized up and they were still to short and too narrow.

Purchased these Merrell's for my eleven year old, ordered size 6, his foot is about 9.5 inched long so these fit perfectly with a little room to spare. The laces are strong but a bit thin, so if your kids are used to regular sneaker laces, these will take a few times to get used to. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more
