  • Great shoe but runs VERY large.
Color: Herb Size: 7
Like almost every review states, these are excellent shoes but they run very, very large. The lake I frequent has been infested with zebra mussels and therefore you can’t walk/swim in it without something on your feet as the shells are very sharp and will cut your feet. I will be using these strictly as water shoes without socks so I want a snug fit with little to no give. In order to get that I had to size down from my “normal” shoe size. I went with a size 7 in these and the fit is nearly perfect for my purposes. My toes are right at the end but not touching. While I typically wear a wide shoe the width on these is fine for me. I have a pretty high arch on my right foot making that one tighter than the other but for the relatively short time I’ll have them on it’ll be fine. There is no slipping at all bordering on too tight (but not quite). If I wanted to wear socks I’d definitely need to go up a size. Also, I would not want to wear these for extended walking. While they are plenty comfortable and will suit me well in the water, there’s not enough cushioning and support for much more - but then I have lots of foot problems so your milage will vary. Since shoe sizes are all over the place here are my current other shoes and sizes for reference: • Hoka Clifton 8 - 9.5EE • Birkenstock Arizona - 41 reg • Crocs Classic - 9 (no socks) 10(socks) • Danner Mountain 600 - 8.5EE Again I went with a size 7 in these Hydro Mocs for a super snug no slip fit. • Fantastic, Active Footwear!
Color: Black Size: 10
Out of all the shoes I've ever owned, these are one of the most comfortable. I first got some of these from an outlet on vacation and they've been my daily wear ever since. I've used them for everything from boating to hanging out on the beach to wearing to work to hiking to rock climbing. These manage to be very durable and easy to wash at the same time being very comfortable. One of the other reviews mentioned that if your feet are wet they can be a little slippery inside the shoe if they're not fit snug. This is exactly right. I agree with the advice to go one size down from your normal shoe size. ... show more

  • Great Shoes
Color: Black Size: 10
I bought these for both my husband and I for an upcoming vacation to Hawaii. They’re incredible! Fit is true to size. Comfort & quality is excellent. Can’t wait to wear these in the water as well as on the hot sand. My husband has problems finding comfortable shoes and he raves over these.

  • Yes!! What I have been waiting for in wide water shoe -- however!
Color: Black Size: 9
I got these 3-1/2 years ago, so thought it time to update my original review (see below). These are still OK, especially when wearing them on wet, slippery rocks in Maine where we do not have sand. The EVA soles are almost as good as felt soles for gripping rocks with algae growing on them, but nobody makes a felt-soled water shoe (fishermen and divers know that felt-soled boots are the best though.) My problem is when you get into sand, wet or dry, these shoes are not good at all. Like all ventilated EVA clogs with holes in them, once the sand gets in, it does not get out quick enough and it just grinds against your feet. If you are hiking in a sandy area, make sure to get a water shoe with fine mesh rather than these. My only other complaint is that if you are climbing on steep ground or angled rocks when these are wet, like most other EVA shoes, your feet will slip around inside the shoe. For this sort of activity, it is much better to have a shoe that ties onto your feet to limit or prevent the slipping around. Everything else is great about this shoe, and my glowing review below still stands even though, I have reduced it by one star to 4-stars. ----------------------- These are awesome!! Very, very comfortable, with good arch support. They slip on easily and comfortably and walking is easy wet or dry - even though when wet my feet slip around in them some (as would be expected with most types of shoes/sandals when soaking wet). One of the best features in addition to the comfort for a wide foot (mens 8-1/2 5E dress shoe) is that these have great gripping power in the water on slippery rocks. I expect this will reduce some as the EVA soles get worn down, but these soles are much “knubbier” than something like crocs or a flipflop, and should hold up for a while. Finding a mens 8-1/2 or 9 in 5E shoe of any type that actually fits is really hard. For a water shoe I have mostly been using Crocs for the width, but the Crocs are really slippery on slimy, algae coated rocks in the water, and they fit loosely and fall off when trying to swim. I did get a pair of Croc water sandals (Swiftwater Crocs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EWJT8M6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) and despite all the positive reviews and the fact that regular crocs are quite comfortable, my Swiftwater's have been horrible and they chaffed at both the seams on the side and at the toe. The Swiftwater also has gaps that catch my little toe on both sandals whenever they are wet and my feet started to slip around in them. Although I thought $50 was expensive for a pair of molded EVA sandals, my other Merrell Moab 2’s have fit very comfortably and worked well for me. So I thought I would take a chance on these Merrell Hydro Mocs. Boy am I glad I did - definitely would buy these again! ... show more
