I have a multi-injured-over-decades right ankle with associated bad MRI report (am a doctor myself and understand the degree of injury). I've had to limit my walking due to irritation that develops over time when walking. On a lark because they were on sale, I purchased these Merrell hiking shoes even though I can't take serious mountain hikes. To my surprise, not only are these comfortable but provide a degree of lateral stability without irritating me. According to the box, this model is a Moab 3 GTX size 12. I did a couple of miles of pavement walking and found it to be comfortable with good arch and overall support. It felt about the same as a Moab 3 WP that i also tried. I would like a little more cushion, however.
