I appreciate the Merrill brand but I know that there insoles are really thin. I've owned older Mob hiking boots and they're durable when it comes to their materials however Merrill likes to go cheap with the insoles. This particular, hiking shoe, is just that, made solely for well maintained trails. They do look durable and they're very light weight and cushioning, they have good gripping and are stylish. I don't recommend them for extremely down wooded forests,(burned forest riddled with debris) like here in CA! I do recommend them for everyday walking or for well maintained hiking trails. They do have plenty of toe space and seem to be a little stiff at tightening that area of lacing. I think they're worth keeping for everyday activities but I feel the pricing is a little steep. I hope with a little more breaking in,that I'll be able to tighten them the way I like my shoes to be. I gave these Merrill's a solid 4 🌟. ... show more

These are great hiking boots. I used them recently and highly recommend them. They add stability and safety on uneven ground. The hike before I used tennis shoes and that will never happen again. It was awful. These are light weigh but provide very good support. Highly recommend.

The left shoe wasn't waterproof or even close. Amazon took them back past the return window date because I was out of the country. I've returned them and received a refund. I then bought a second pair and just received them. I ran water over them. So far, no leaks. They are quite comfortable.
