I know, the header sound like someone who just got there first pair of hikers. But no, I personally have or have had most every offering out there in heavy trail boots to UL trail runners. To the point, there’s a lot to be said about NON GTX hikers. Yes there is a place for GTX boots and shoes. But not nearly as many applications where your not better served with full on breathable foot wear. Quick wet & quick dry. This in place of hiking all day with your foot in a zip lock bag (GTX) full of water made from your own sweat. Now that you understand my logic. Why this boot or shoe? Simply put. It is very well designed. Made with quality materials. And well proven on trail, and the shoe per dollar invested is not a negative either. I will add that. I am not saying this is a great mood for the money. I hate it when people do that it leaves you wondering where it really fall in the spectrum of best to worst. This is a great boot at any price. I have Limmer‘s that cost over $1000 that I love. But I do not consider them any better of a boot for what they’re designed to do. Hope this is helpful, REP

Now totally my own fault for not making sure they are water proof but they are ventilated so great for a dry hike. They have this mesh breathable material which kept my feet nice and cool. Just had to be super careful when collecting water or crossing streams as it wouldn’t be hard to get wet feet with these bad boys. They feel great on the dogs though even right out of the box. Only thing I don’t care for is what feels like a air compression heel which makes a slight noise when you step. Overall a great hiking boot, and I’ll be buying a waterproof pair as well ;)

Happy with this purchase as these received high marks from some trusted outdoor gear review sites I frequent. I also own the Gore-Tex version of the Moab 2 mid boot (which was my first purchase). I wanted something that breathed better as I generally have hot and sweaty feet. This breathes better than the goretex version, but not quite as well as I'd hoped. My feet still get really hot in these in temperatures over 35 degrees. Still, it's tough to match the value in this boot. I bought it mostly for steep but well travelled Colorado front range hikes with minimal to no gear. I wear a 12-12.5 in most shoes but these fit me well in the size 11.5 I ordered. If you're looking for a multi-day shoe, I'd probably go with a burlier boot, but these are perfect for my purposes. I think a heavy pack may expose some of the limitations of this comparatively less supportive design relative to full length boots. The upside is this is fairly light weight and still feels significantly more stable and supportive vs my New Balance trail running shoes.

Boots fit well and look good, but right boot squeaks constantly and I didn't wear them for the first few weeks I had them so I can't return them. Seems to be something with the cushion so I may have to buy some Dr. Scholl's and replace in hopes that stops it.

I wear these everyday because i rolled my ankle well over a year ago and it needs support when i walk. On anything uneven. Works great for that. Have several pairs. The shank is so stiff though it makes me walk stiff legged. Also, suprisingly slippery sole for a hiker. I do like the look and they are made very well.

Great and comfortable shoe so far, only been wearing these a few weeks now. I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear due some saying it was wise. Glad I did, they fit spot on.
