  • Merrells hiking boots are phenomenal!
Size: 9.5 Color: Charcoal Grey
Since my husband got his Men's Moab 2 Vent Hiking Shoe hiking shoes in June 2018 he's walked/hiked 3.4 millions steps, 1400 miles as of today, January 4, 2020. He absolutely LOVES those shoes and he walks and hikes up mountain trails regularly. He says they are the most comfortable shoes he's ever had. Though showing signs of wear, which is normal, his hiking shoes are still are in GREAT shape. I would not hesitate to recommend their hiking shoes. Photos shown were taken today. NOTE: I've purchased their barefoot shoes for myself but they had holes in a matter of 3 months with very minimal use. Their awesome customer support sent me a replacement pair, different style. Same thing. So though I need to find another source for barefoot shoes, which makes me sad because I LOVED them otherwise... their hiking boots are superior. ... show more

  • Merrell's QC over shoe sizing across different models/factories is grossly inadequate.
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Charcoal Grey
I have several different shoes from Merrell. In the pic, I lined them up with their heels against the wall, with a measuring tape running parallel to the wall. You can see how variable the shoe sizes are. From L to R: (1) Moab 2 Vent (Size US 10.5W) [Made in Vietnam] (2) Moab Gortex (Size US 11) [Made in China] (3) Waterpro Maipo (Size US 10) [Made in Vietnam] (4) All Out Blaze Water Shoe (Size 10) [Made in China] Other than the Moab2, the rest are all regular widths. The Moab2 Vent size US10.5W is even longer than my older Moab Goretex size US11. It is far too big for me to wear. A few months back, I bought the All Out Blaze and this size US10 is shorter than my other pair of Waterpro Maipo size US10, making it too tight for me to wear. As I'm an international buyer, it is too costly for me to return them to US. So I sold them off at a loss. I'm giving up buying Merrell shoes online as clearly their QC over shoe sizes across different models and production countries are grossly inadequate. Actually one can argue that it is a product defect. ... show more

  • Great Hiking Shoe - Very Comfortable
Size: 12 Color: Earth
I purchased the shoes about four months ago as I wanted to give an accurate as possible review. The sizing seems spot on. I wear a 12 and ordered my size- the shoes fit perfectly. The Moab 2 is very comfortable with breathable material as to minimize sweating... I'm a Park Ranger and I wear the shoes everytime I hike or when I'm not wearing my patrol boots. The last pair of Merrells I had came apart towards the toe of the shoe on the rubber tread. I was extremely disappointed and almost went with a different brand. I'm glad I didn't though because the Moabs are durable and hold up well. I would not hesitate to purchase another pair and definitely recommend them without hesitation. My dog Cowboy loves them too! ... show more

  • Holy Shoe
Size: 10.5 Color: Earth
Guys, I wore these twice on two 12-hour shifts at a hospital to “break them in…” and that was completely unneeded before I went on a 45 mile hike up the backside of Mt. Whitney. These shoes ROCKED it!!! They fit my foot well, I didn’t have to add any mole skin to my feet other than the last day - barely any to my left second toe’s tip (slightly longer). They held true, my feet don’t hurt, and these bad boys got worked. Five stars for a reason!!!!! No break in time needed Holds up super well Not heavy Rugged but comfortable ... show more

  • Great shoe/boot. Own 2.
Size: 13 Color: Earth
I own the boot version in size 12 and the shoe (ankle height) in 13. I wish there was a 12.5. Usually I’m a 12 but sometimes I’m a 13. The 12 hiking boot version is a little tight on my toes, especially if I wear big socks for a cold hike. The 13 shoe version I got (about 5 years after the boot version) is a bit too big. I wear timberland normal socks and I have a bit too much space. If I wear wool socks it’s ok-Ish. I got the shoe version to wear at work or during normal day to day thing. The 13 is very comfy but just a hair big. Like I said, 12.5 would be perfect. Love them. I’ve had tons of other brands and they either make odd noises as I walk or make my feet sweat. These are awesome. Would 100% but again. Even the size 12 boots. My ankles roll easily so the slightly tight fit is perfect for hikes, but not necessarily day to day trips for groceries. Love them and vibram makes a big difference in concrete and even rocks. Tree limbs or Icry asphalt. Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Best hiking shoes I’ve owned
I’ve taken these all over for the past year; The Smokey’s, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon... Several multi day backpacking trips in quite a few different terrains & conditions. They’re light & comfortable enough to put in the miles day after day. If you get them wet, from a stream crossing or caught in the weather, they’re not miserable to hike in & dry out pretty quickly. They’ve held up pretty well to the 200 miles or so I put on them. I eventually decided to replace them with an identical pair as they’re starting to show significant wear. I bought a second pair for a reason. ... show more

  • Comfort and Performance Out of the Box
Size: 9 Wide Color: Charcoal Grey
These are my second Moab hiking shoes. My first was the Moab Mid Gore-Tex. I hiked about 700-800 miles in dry and wet conditions. This new pair is the Ventilator, and I have hiked about 100 miles in them. What I like about the Moab 2 Ventilators 1) The comfort and performance of these shoes out of the box are trademarks for Merrell. I have never had a blister with these shoes. This includes hiking the Inca Trail in wet conditions. Three and a half days of wet hiking up to 14,000+ ft elevation. I am a Merrell lifer!3 2) The New Heel area: The Moab 2 feels different in the heel area. To me, these shoes are an improvement. They feel more stable. My heel feels like it sits better and does not move around as much as the previous version. 3) Wide version available. My feet are 9 wide. Merrell 9W fit me perfectly. 4) Ventilator. These vent very well which means they do not keep water out like the Gore-Tex and Waterproof versions do. I like it that my feet feel cooler in the Ventilators. ... show more
