I'm really happy with these for the price. Years ago, I bought some cheapo mystery brand sneakers from China and was really happy with them and actually I still have a pair, I just need to glue the outer sole back on to the uppers. I've tried numerous other sneakers to replace those, but haven't had any luck until now. 1. These shoes fit me well, and they hold my feet stable. (I bought other shoes in this class which seemed dangerous to walk in because my feet were so unstable.) 2. Depending how tightly I tie the laces, these can hold my feet securely for a long walk, or I can leave some slack in the laces and use them as slip-ons. Either way, they are easy to slip off partly because the uppers are a little elastic. (Please note, for better or worse, they don't have a separate tongue like most shoes but the fabric will fold over on itself very easily if you tie the laces tightly, so it still functions as if there was a tongue.) 3. They are very breathable and great in hot weather. 4. Like most sneakers in this price range, made in China from off-brand companies or popup companies, there is no separate rubber or rubber-like durable bottom outer sole. But at least these shoes are not smooth on the bottom. They do have a tread design of sorts, which will reduce your risk of slipping on smooth wet surfaces. 5. They are very breathable. 6. THE NEGATIVES: (a) The little loop of fabric designed for you to hold when you slip your foot in is way too little and too fragile. I can barely fit a finger through it, and that takes effort, and then I heard it to rip a little last time I relied on it. For use as slip-on shoes, a durable tab or loop is important in that location, especially because there's no solid heel counter. (b) the bottom tread / outer sole / midsole impact absorption cushioning material (it's all the same material) is wearing down very quickly. The tread design is noticeably worn down under the heel, I'm writing this review about 4 weeks after purchase. I've probably walked 8 mi on concrete and asphalt, maybe 10 miles. I didn't actually buy these with the intent to wear them on walks — I intended to wear them just around home — but they are really comfortable so it's hard to resist not wearing them out the door, especially in the summer because they are very breathable compared to my other shoes. And sometimes I just forget and I find myself a block from home wearing these instead of my Nike shoes. The durability of the bottom of the shoe is my biggest concern. I'm also not sure how well the midsole cushioning will maintain its shape. It's showing creases already. (My original off-brand Chinese sneakers for $20 also showed creases pretty quickly but held their shape. But those shoes, even though they were flat on the bottom without real texture or tread, did not wear down very quickly) And the lack of a good pull tab or loop for holding the heel of the shoe open is annoying for sure. (It wouldn't be missed much if there was one of those heel counters built in around the heel to keep its shape) ... show more

Good for the price. They're a bit tight with ankle socks but will probably stretch some although I usually wear this type of shoe without socks. Although I've only had for a few days, I would likely buy again.
