I prefer to walk vs. drive, so if I'm going out to an event I'll often walk a mile to get there. Hiking boots are comfortable for that, but I also want them to not look *too* casual...so black boots are ideal for me. Yet black is relatively hard to come by. These fit the bill! It would be preferable if there were no branding, or if the logotype was black-on-black... but eh, it's not too over the top. A test of the waterproof claim by running them under a deluge in the tub faucet didn't get a drop of water on my socks. Solid! I've been hesitant to buy shoes online, because I have to go through a lot of pairs at shoe stores before I find ones that fit. But these were given to me to review (which is probably about the only way I'd get unknown models of shoe online) and I'm quite pleased with the fit. There's not much in the way of arch support, as the insoles you get are typically useless and flimsy. If you haven't experienced upgrading the insoles of your shoes to actually good ones, I suggest you try it--I've spent $25 on quality insoles and was well worth it. My biggest concern about these shoes is that the rubber on the bottom is very soft and squishy, so they might get worn down quickly. Maybe my intuition is wrong--and being softer means they will yield more to the terrain and wear less than harder rubber would? But I'm suspicious. Still, I'm giving these five initial stars based on very positive impressions. I will update my review if the longevity isn't there.

I got these hiking boots for my daughter, who has weak ankles. These boots offer a great amount of ankle support and allow easy tightening of the laces. They are very comfortable and do not pinch or rub uncomfortably. They look very nice and do have some rubber on the bottom, but I feel like the listing images are a bit misleading where they say they have a rubber outsole. The bottoms are foam material with some rubber pieces added to the bottom. I feel like they do not provide a whole lot of grip since they are not very heavy tread areas and are a bit flat to the boot. Overall, they are nice, but I do wish the bottoms had better grip.

Review by my son, written by Mary: This review is for the "Men's Waterproof Hiking boots Lightweight Comfortable Outdoor Trekking Trails Boot", by OUTJET, size 11.5. There are a lot of cool details on these boots (pics 1-3) & they look nice. The soles have a nice deep tread (pic 4), important for hiking boots. I dribbled water on the top of a boot, to check it they are waterproof & the water beaded up (pic 5). I actually put it under the faucet for about 30 seconds, to see the effect; the material on the top got slightly damp, but I checked inside the shoe & it was completely dry. My son wears between an 11 & 12, depending on the fit; since these are for hiking & he will be wearing thicker socks, we ordered an 11.5 - he said they fit well, are comfy & warm.

These High Top Boot 🔥Shoes are really nice. They are really durable and actually fit so much more comfortably than the first impression I got from them. As you can see where I have one off and one on, it actually kind of expands to give you a wider fit which is perfect if you have wider feet. I love open toe shoes and wide toes, and this right here can actually fit in that category because it does not feel like it brings me toes together like most shoes nowadays. The grip on the bottom is the only thing I’m questioning just because it’s more of a slick and harder rubber than what most shoes have and I’m not sure if it is better or worse for slipping conditions. All I have to do is put some custom insoles in these and they’ll easily be the best sneakers I’ve ever had, thank you.

These boots are really awesome. They fit well and they are surprisingly lightweight. It feels lightweight and it doesn’t feel bulky. They also have a lot of support. Walking with them inside feels like walking on clouds. Everything is smooth. I normally wear a size 7 but it looked like these shoes would run smaller on me than normal so I got a size 8 and I was totally right. These shoes will run small on you so it is best to size up from what you normally wear for your running shoes or tennis shoes. I would totally recommend these shoes.

These OUTJET hiking boots look good and offer a lot of stability. I walked two miles in these boots and I enjoyed how they fit and felt that they had a good grip on the ground. I’d feel comfortable using these in the woods to protect my feet.

I wasn't sure how these would compare to more traditional boot, but these were awesome! The fit is solid and they have comfort when walking. It didn't take much to break in either, as they were comfortable right from the start. They look to be well built, the seams look strong and well done. I'm happy with taking the chance on these. If you're looking for a super comfy hiking boot, this is the one.
