In the box you get a pair of hiking shoes. I had never heard of this brand before, but was attracted to them by the Vibram soles and the predictable design. They looked comfortable, and had the high top & waterproof features that I was looking for. When I first put these shoes on, I immediately felt like they were a little small. I wear size 10.5 shoes which is the size I ordered. They fit, but were a little tight. If I could do it again, I would go up to size 11. They aren’t tight enough to bother with a return / exchange so I’m just going to live with them as is. I also immediately noticed how comfortable the insole is. I’ve had to put ‘aftermarket’ insoles in my hiking shoes before, but these felt like they already came with upgraded insoles. The boots still walk like hiking boots, but have more flex than I’m used to. This makes them a lot more comfortable, but they still have plenty of support. I generally don’t use the top loop set to allow some additional freedom for my ankle unless I’m going through some very rocky terrain. The soles are amazing. They are Vibrams and feature lugs, which give you exceptional grip in the wet and muddy terrain that you typically encounter when hiking. They also don’t wear down very easily. The toe box is well enforced and has a rubber front cover to help protect your toes when you inevitably kick into rocks. The shoelaces feel more like reinforced cordage, which will hopefully prevent them from wearing out from rubbing against the metal hooks over and over again. I’m taking a chance on these since Botas isn’t a brand that I’m familiar with, but overall these boots seem to have all of the features of the more popular name brands, but without the extra cost. I’m happy with how they have performed so far.

The toe box on both boots was too narrow. The right more so than the left. Very stiff overall and the soles squeak. Had high hopes for these boots in a day and age when most manufactures are more concerned with fashion, style, and multiple colors. Just wanted a quality pair of hiking boots. Last time I order boots from online.

The delay in this review was so that I could get some good wear on these boots before coming to a decision on what to say. Aesthetically, they are not the most visually appealing; meaning, while these are fine for hiking and outdoor activities, I'm not putting these on to go out casually. The materials are mid-grade except for the vibram soles which are obviously top quality material, long lasting, and effective for traction and slip control. The hightop boot is effective at keeping your ankle securely in place, and due to the rigidity of the boot I wouldnt have any concerns with ankle injuries if I happened to step sideways on a root or rock. Waterproofing is sufficient for light water contact but, like any waterproof boot if you submerge your foot you're going to have to dump the water out as there are no drain or air vents (appropriately). Overall I give this boot a 7/10 for comfort, quality, durability, and style.

These are 5 star boots for sure, but they are narrow. If you have wide feet, these aren't going to fit. The build quality is exceptional. Every stitch is aligned where it should be and the materials used look good. Inside the material is comfortable against your foot with high quality laces. The insole has some arch support and the bottom tread design grips very well on dry or wet terrain. These are lighter than some of my other hiking boots. The only issue you might have will be the width. If you don't wear shoes that are "wide" these will fit well. They were true to size in all other aspects.

I have never heard of BOTAS before, so I took a bit of a gamble ordering these, but man, am I glad I did! These boots are incredibly comfortable.... probably the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever had, and I've had several. The insole is like walking on air, and the fit (I wear a 10.5) is spot on. Fully laced, they wrap my feet and ankles perfectly, giving me confidence with each step. I wore these on a 5 mile hike up a pretty steep mountain trail and the grip from the outer soles was impeccable. My biggest rave is how comfortable these were before, during, and after my hike. My feet felt great, without the usual soreness I feel after a hike like that. These are well put together and seem like they will last a good, long while. Kudos to BOTAS, you've really created a terrific hiking boot here. 5 stars!

Size wise, I think these are as true as you're going to get. The only thing I'd caution against is width. They fit me in that direction, but if your foot is wide, I could maybe see sizing being an issue there. I took a couple pictures because I feel like the color is a bit different. The first picture is with a bright flash on it. Even in that picture, the brown isn't as bright/warm as the photo in the listing. But under normal lighting conditions, they look like the second picture. Which is to say they are a much darker brown in color. Personally I'm glad they're a darker brown. I was kind of questioning my color choice after ordering them. So I'm glad they're a more muted brown. The construction seems top notch. But time will have to tell on that. The inner soles are super comfy. It's got a walking on air quality to them. Special call-out to the Vibram outer soles. They are super nice. Shoes with Vibram soles tend to be on the pricier side. So these are priced very competitively considering the quality here.
