I want to give it 5 stars, but the shirt is too short. The material is of good quality, and it would almost be true to size if it weren't for the length of the shirt. Not ideal for tall men or men with a fluffier midsection.

As a student years ago I had a pair of large, pink, cotton shorts with an elastic waist band that I picked up at a bargain store. They were fun because of their absurd color, but were also comfy because of the elastic waist band and being ridiculously oversized for my frame. They also entertained my girlfriend, so became my go-to casual shorts around my apartment. I wore them so much at home that they eventually began to fray all over, so sadly, they eventually had to be retired. It was partially with the fond memory of those shorts in mind that I ordered this men's waffle-patterned, 2-piece, knit, cotton shorts and t-shirt set from the AUSELILY store. The set arrived vacuum-sealed in great condition. I was immediately surprised and impressed by the set's relatively robust thickness and weight. When so much casual wear these days seems to get thinner and more flimsy, these have a higher-quality feel than expected. I love the waffle weave fabric, which sets them apart from the other casual wear in my collection. I immediately pulled out the shorts to check how they fit. The large size of the shorts fit my 35" waist perfectly, with the elastic waistband perfectly hugging my frame as hoped, to the point that the draw strings seem more ornamental than functional - although I can foresee the strings becoming handy if I'm successful in achieving my New Year resolution to drop a few pounds. The two front side pockets are functionally deep, whereas the smaller sewn-on back pocket almost seems to be an afterthought. The length of the shorts are on the longer side, stylishly resting just above my knees. I'm also pleasantly surprised by the softness and unexpected stretch of the 65% cotton/35% polyester fabric blend. I tend to shy away from polyester fabric, but this blend works well. The fit of the shirt is just a little bit oversized for me, but given the cotton composition it may shrink a little bit during washing. The weight and composition of both knit garments cause them to drape over me in a comfortable way, though perhaps not as neatly as I prefer with garments that I wear outside. It's unlikely that I'll wear this set as a pair, as I prefer color and texture contrast in my apparel. I expect to wear the shirt as an undergarment, allowing the waffle weave to stand out and compliment whatever I wear over it. The light gray color will allow me to wear it with just about anything. If I had a quibble, it would be the pocket sewn onto the front of the t-shirt - I strongly dislike pockets sewn onto knit shirts; IMHO it makes them look cheap. But, since I plan to wear the shirt as an undergarment it could come in handy as as an auxiliary hidden compartment. Overall, I'm surprisingly pleased with this two-piece, mostly-cotton, stretchy, waffle-patterned, knit casual wear. I find them comfortable and I can foresee both rotating within my summer wear collection. And, the price is about right. Noteworthy is that my photo of the hanging best represents the true light gray color of the set. ... show more
