I need some bling for a Viking costume for an upcoming performance. Problem is I have neck issues and can’t wear a lot of weight around it. This necklace fits my needs perfectly. It’s not chainmail but it’s close enough. More importantly, it doesn’t weigh as much as chainmail, especially chainmail of the same size. It’s still on the heavy side – according to my neck – but I’m able to wear it long enough for the show. The weight just says it’s going to be a bit more durable than average cheap costume jewelry. It also shines more than actual metal – something important for a stage. It can be easily adjusted without danger of breaking, but the instructions for this can only be found online. If I find the weight too unbearable, I can use enough to make a bracelet and attach the rest to a scarf for a lighter, but still shiny, necklace. I got this for a costume. As a costume, it’s perfect. There is no way, however, I can see this as ever being a piece of actual jewelry. It certainly feels nice in the hands and has a nice jingle. It’s also shiny. But, it is made of plastic. It will never move like actual gold or even metal, and it definitely will never last as long. It puts the costume in costume jewelry. I leave it at that.

This is a chunky fake gold chain for a Halloween costume. It's supposed to make you look like a hip hop rapper from the 80s or 90s. I put it on, and now I feel like I should be talking about my struggles in a song while standing in front of a slightly ajar car door. The chain is chunky, as advertised. It's also gold, but not really, they're really more yellow? or orange? but definitely not gold. It feels like something you'd find in a pirate's treasure chest, if the pirate was on a budget. It's a costume accessory, and it certainly accessorizes. The durability seem cheap but fits just fine over my head.

This chain is big, chunky, lightweight and shiny. It’s good for that old school rapper look. It kinks up in places so it doesn’t lay flat. And there are a few imperfections where the gold doesn’t cover the grey plastic. Fine for a fun costume if it doesn’t need to look perfect.

It looks good. Wore it to a baseball game. Received loads of compliments and questions of how much it costs or how heavy it is. It’s very light weight, but is good quality and comfortable to wear. Great value for money and it has resisted becoming tarnished. My kid wore it to school for an event and everyone thought it was real!
