Part was a perfect match for my 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 (new body) 4wd 6.0L. I stress new body because almost everything else has been different between new body and classic body, even though they’re the same year. As long as you follow instructions on what color o-ring to use I think it’ll work out perfectly. Saw and increase of psi from the stock 8psi at idle to 13-15 psi at idle. These 6.0l engines are designed to have the lower psi after warm up so don’t be worried if you see less than other cars. It was a pain because you have to remove the oil pan in order to get the puck up tube off the original pump, but I needed a new pan gasket anyways. Took bout 1.5days since you need to relive the harmonic balancer, timing cover, oil pan and then oil pump. ... show more

Replace my oem oil pump that had 250k miles My original pump had low pressure at idle in the summer, around 18 pounds. This new pump has amazing pressure.Would highly recommended it also make sure to change oring on pickup while at it

Made my 07 Escalade run like new again. It’s important to watch which O ring you use (the kit comes with 2 different rings it will tell you which one to use) i recommended getting the oil pick up tube as well or at least a new o ring for the pick up tube because a lot of the time it’s just the rings that’s went bad. ... show more

    • Solved my problem on 2007 Cadillac Escalade 6.2L
Worked great on my 2007 Cadillac Escalade 6.2L - I called Melling tech support and they specifically recommended this pump for my application. Be sure and do your research on the intake O-ring color. The enclosed piece of paper described two types of pickups being slotted and straight. My Escalade actually was the THIRD type which is tapered and requires the GREEN O-ring not the red or black. Once installed this immediately solved the sticky bypass valve problem that was present in my OE pump. The different was dramatic and the engine was noticeably quieter the moment it started and every time it started thereafter. My OE o-ring literally fell apart as I tried to remove it so I'm sure that wasn't helping things either. Bottom line is that Melling is going into any new LS motors that I buy. ... show more
