It’s been almost a year I’m ready to tell my story. We purchased this November 2022 as a Christmas gift for our then one year-old granddaughter. After scrolling and looking at a few other kitchen sets I came upon this cute pink kitchen set that was on sale for $98 with a coupon for 25 additional dollars off. At the time I had no idea who Melissa and Doug were or what they sold I just saw a cute kitchen set at what I considered a steel compared to other wooden sets I was looking at and again it was pink! My sons & I put it together on Christmas. It took a couple hours, we followed the no drill rule, we wanted to make sure we put it together right not rushed that’s why we didn’t ask my husband for help lol. Right away she fell in love with it. She comes over maybe four times a week most weeks and she goes right to her little area that we made for her & get to cooking(making a mess) She does not allow anyone to cook in her kitchen. Which is fine because I enjoy watching her use her imagination, making sound effects as she plays and how much she’s grown over the last 10months from not being able to reach the shelf over the sink or microwave to standing on her tippy toes and cooking everything in the microwave, including Minnie Mouse(don’t judge her). It’s a good size, definitely a set kids can grow into and keep for many years with proper care. I did go to dollar tree and buy a shelf for the refrigerator, after seeing a few other reviews I’m definitely adding lights. The set has plenty of storage space for food, dishes, and whatever. This was an absolute steal. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to build this by myself with two babies lol I got it for my daughter’s 2nd birthday and she loves it! She pretends to cook in her kitchen while I’m preparing dinner and it’s the cutest thing ever. The little knobs actually click like a gas stove and the microwave has a manual turn knob underneath. The ice maker works - it’s just so cute and functional. You all need one! ... show more

I like the unit as a whole. My only complaint is that the “ice dispenser” broke within a a couple of days. I emailed Melissa and Doug customer service and never received a reply if any sort. Kind of disappointed with that aspect.

Bought this for my children Christmas 2022 and they literally play with this every single day multiple times in the day even if its for only five minutes to make a drink. The melissa and doug and other accessories contribute to their enjoyment of the kitchen and how frequently they play with it I'd say. I was concerned about the shard glass reviews from a time ago and this issue must have been resolved mine didn't have any shards of glass. What I don't like is the handles frequently pop off with frequent use even after being tightened and locked in one of the knob pieces have completely broken off that locks the handles in. I believe classic nail and screw would have been better for keeping the hinges on. Overall quality toy and I'd purchase this one again because my kids enjoy it that much its one of those purchases that make you feel good you bought it because your kids will get tons of play out of it. ... show more

Bought this for my grandsons for Christmas, very sturdy, they love it and play with it every day. I researched several, but the reviews were so good with this one we had to get it. Best of all we had it shipped to my sons house, so he had to put it all together. 😂😂.
