Just wow. I got this on sale for about $50 and it was worth every penny. My 3.5 year old was just having too much screen time. Educational programs or not it doesn't matter too much screen time just cannot be a good thing. I kid you not this is the ONLY thing this ENTIRE pandemic that has kept him engaged and having fun. I love that I assembled it alone in 20 minutes. Most of it was with the hex key/Allen wrench provided with the package BUT you do need a flathead and a Philips head screwdriver just for a quick second but it is needed. The directions were absolutely perfect I cannot think of anything that could have been added or alerted to make it any simpler . Im not handy I usually get frustrated with put together toys. I can barely await Christmas morning with the Family ! The Melissa & Doug puppet theatre was carefully packaged and undamaged. I opened the box to inspect it and ensure all the pieces were included. i was impressed with the quality of each item, including the fabric curtain and its seams. The wood is nicely finished with no apparent risk of splinters. The colors are delightful. While I did not yet assemble the theatre, I have no doubt it will require minimal effort.     • Wonderful toy to encourage pretend play and imagination
I bought this puppet theater as a Christmas gift for my cousin's children (boy age 4, girl age 3). Both of the kids absolutely loved it. She kept it at our grandmother's home where we have dinner every week and each week, one of the kids would pull out the puppet theater over their other toys. It was a great way for the adults to play with the kids as well. The kids loved putting on plays for us and also enjoyed having some of the adults do little shows with them. Both children could fit behind the puppet theater but a third person was pushing it, space wise. The little clock on the front is a wonderful touch and the most educational part. Every time they would play with it they would change the time and someone would use that as an opportunity to teach them a little bit about time and how to read a clock. The entire fixture is of good quality, but the front and back are not very well balanced. While it held up well just fine on it's own, when the kids would start to get a little rowdy, they tipped it forward every now and then. It never fell back onto them though. The one other thing I should mention is that the dowel that holds on the curtain is not the strongest considering it will be played with by children. It held up fine for a long time but one night, the girl got a little rough tugging on it and it snapped. Luckily, it's not much different from any dowel you can buy at a hardware store so it was very simple and cheap to replace. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Omg! I love this! Sorry for the quality of my video and picture my camera is broken on my phone. This is the most a adorable item! We also purchased a box of puppets on Amazon as well. This was a Christmas gift for my grandson. He has been having so much fun with this. He is quite the entertainer and loves to be center stage. What I like best about this is that it really helps him with his communication skills and speech. He is autistic and is delayed. Being an only child has its ups and downs. It can be lonely being the only child in a house full of adults. I think it's safe to say I might have had as much fun playing with this as he did on Christmas morning. The quality is great and it was fairly easy to assemble! Thw curtain pulls apart and has draw back ties and the clock on the front is movable to change ge tbe time which also helps withlearninf how to tell time. I often look at these products and think....that's a lot of money for the materials. But they're always so cool, easy to assemble and actually hold up. So like the many other Melissa &Doug products we've purchased, this one was a hit and is still holding up, even to our little juggernaut mixed with demolition expert of a son!! ... show more

    • Good product, assemble is a pain.
It took me an hour to put this together but that was because I got half of it done and then realize that I had one piece backwards so I had to take it all back apart and start again. The directions looked easy but the pieces weren't marked so it was hard to know which way some of the pieces went because they weren't labeled and it was hard for one person to do because you had to hold it and use the Allen wrench at the same time so I had to shove it against a wall and use my leg to hold it together so that I could tighten the pieces on. Overall the kids love it and I got it last year and it held up really nice and my preschool classroom. ... show more

    • Shorter than expected
The stage is a little lower than I expected. The grandchildren were excited to use it. Seems like it will hold up reasonably well. Putting it together simple, would have gone even quicker if all the kids weren't trying to help.
