Features

  • MAJOR UPGRADE FROM "STOCK" STARTER CYMBALS: these are not those distractingly cheap, flimsy prop cymbals that come with most drum sets; Meinl HCS cymbals have impressive sound and sturdy feel geared toward beginner/intermediate players
  • WHY IT MATTERS: playing HCS cymbals will sound more like what you hear in actual songs, making the drums even more fun to play; plus, they aren't going to fall apart, dent, or bend after a few uses like stock cymbals
  • WHAT'S IN THE BOX: Super Set includes 14" hihats (top and bottom), a 20" ride, 16" crash, 18" crash, 16" china, and a 10" splash; this set contains the components needed to complete a full drum kit plus added effect cymbals to dial-in serious sounds
  • DRIVING THE SOUND: made in Germany with MS63 brass alloy for a clean, bright, and crisp tone; substantial thickness with well-formed surface grooves and hammer marks give you a defined sound without clangy or ear-piercing overtones
  • CATCH UP QUICK: HCS exceeds expectations because Meinl brings experience crafting cymbals since 1951; we make HCS and other lines in our German factory, and our top-of-the-line professional Byzance cymbals are hand hammered in Turkey from cast B20 bronze
  • ZOOM IN: the surface shimmers and shines under light, which is a bonus if you like your kit to look beautiful; HCS cymbals also feature the same logo treatment as our professional lines, including a small laser engraved logo and serial number
  • OF NOTE: you can find any sound in the seemingly never-ending selection of cymbal types in the HCS line; all essentials in multiple sizes are covered along with effects cymbals that let you expand your sound with variety
  • THE BOTTOM LINE: these are German made, top-quality entry level cymbals that resemble more high-end models with their crisp, bright tone and musical feel; they have a long lifespan, even for hard hitters, and fit any musical style

Description

These brass alloy models sound and look great, and let you get into playing MEINL at very realistic prices. The HCS series from Meinl Cymbals is designed to offer all of the cymbal types and sizes normally found in professional lines to beginners, in order to deliver the same sound options a professional drummer may look for. The HCS-SCS "Super Cymbal Set" is an all-inclusive set of standard cymbal types and sizes that will complete a drum kit set up. Included in the HCS Super Set are a 14" hi hat pair, 20" ride, 16" crash, 18" crash, 16" china, and a 10” splash. The hi hats have a crisp "chick" with a nice slosh when played open while the ride cymbal delivers a well-defined "ping" and a cutting bell without distracting overtones. HCS crashes respond with a warm attack followed by a medium sustain. The china is ideal for adding cutting accents with a sharp, sinister sound. HCS cymbals are crafted in Germany with a durable brass alloy that has a responsive touch with an unmatched sound quality in this range. Geared towards beginners, Meinl HCS cymbals stand up to the brunt of sticks while maintaining their musical tone.

  • Great Cymbal pack for a new drum set
I just upgraded to a full acoustic set after playing electronic for a couple years - so I need all new cymbals to go with the kit - This pack was great - a great price for # of cymbals you get. Everything sounds great you can cover a bunch of different genre's with the cymbals included. Very happy!

  • these are decent for the price.
I like the amount of cymbals you get for this price. Are they a great sounding set? NO! but for a beginner drummer to intermediate player they are excellent. i bought mine a year ago and they are still being used everyday. they are very well constructed and clean up nice.

  • I researched the Meinl brand and found that it had a pretty decent sound
Getting back to playing after a number of years out and not having any gear I needed to invest in cymbals and not ready to spend on the brand I had many years ago, I researched the Meinl brand and found that it had a pretty decent sound. I knew with Amazons return policy that I had nothing to lose, so I pulled the trigger. I received them, set them up and within 5 minutes knew I wouldn't need to return them. The only piece that I'm a bit unhappy about is the 10 inch splash. To my old ears, it's more of a crash. It just seems to be a bit to thick to be a real splash but all in all, I'm satisfied and yeah, I'll be using the 10 inch. ... show more

  • Amazing bang for the buck
Amazing bang for the buck, compared to all of the other options out there. I looked for several hours--both at individual cymbal options, as well as the variety packs like this one. Great value, great sound, and super quick shipping--even to Alaska! (Where I live) Nothing was harmed in shipping, even in the least. Super pleased with this experience, and love the sound. Stoked to have so many cymbals now! ... show more

  • Great cymbals, underestimated! Buy now!
I got a great deal on this pack and 6 cymbals is more than enough for me.. (for now lol) im just building my drum kit up again. Back when i was 16 - 20 i used Sabians AAX series cymbals. But I only had a 14in hi-hat, 16in crash, 17in crash, and a 22in ride. Never owned a splash back then... when i joined the Army I had to put it all in storage and unfortunately my unit was broken into and they took my drum mic's, my cymbals (which were all in a bag) and my custom Sonor drum set. I had spent over $3,600 on everything only to come back and find it gone. So i stopped playing for awhile. Now im back in the drumming game and was harshly reminded of how expensive everything was... since i took such a long hiatus from drumming i figured id ease back in by getting low cost equipment. However I have fallen in love with the sound these produce. I will eventually upgrade but I will always have these unless they break (which i dont smash my drums or cymbals.) I had never heard of this company until recently and now I may never go back to Sabian. Eventually Id love to get the Meinl Classics dark cymbals, I love how they sound, and of course who doesnt like black cymbals? But for now these will due. Plus you just cannot beat the price. I will post more pictures once i have all the cymbals up. ... show more

  • For beginners
I have a few Meinl cymbals and they're excellent in both sound and quality. I bought these for my rehearsal kit and could not stand the sound. That doesn't mean they're bad, I would recommend for a beginner as you get a great variety of sounds for a very reasonable price. The entire set cost less than my Sabian Paragon Ride so I wasn't expecting a studio quality sound. Gave them away and got a Zildjian S set that is marginally better. ... show more
