  • So sturdy!
If you need a heavy duty cane at a reasonable price, this is the one for you! This thing is a Beast! It is a lot heavier than standard aluminum canes, but this will support a substantial amount of weight There is a bit of a clicking noise as you walk, even with the bottom sleeve completely tightened.. It has different adjustment setting so should be good for many different heights. The adjustment button is dual, so there's 2 little parts that come through the holes; The top one is only a partial button I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that way or if it is defective If you need to defend yourself, this cane could do some serious damage. For the sturdiness, the price is well worth it.! ... show more

  • heavy but very sturdy.
I've had one of these for 12 years. Only problem I noticed was the stickers are peeling off. Since I now occasionally use a wheelchair, I recently left the cane in the car on a very hot day. The handle became loose, I could turn it around and around. Not sure if it might become a problem down the road, so I decided to buy another. Now I have two functional bariatric canes which is OK with me. ... show more

  • If you need a rugged cane and can handle the weight this is the cane for you.
Yes this is 3 lbs and much heavier than aluminum cane, but it is sturdy. I have been using two of these canes for over a year to get some of my weight (400-500 pounds, 6'3") off my knees. I wish there was one more hole longer on the adjustment, but I am ok with the highest setting. I also wear out tips in about 3 months. So I started buying bulk at Amazon - Medline G00841 Guardian 7/8" Super Crutch Tip, Black (Pack of 8)Medline G00841 Guardian 7/8" Super Crutch Tip, Black (Pack of 8). Pack of 8 is really 16 tips because they are crutch tips and they are the same as original equipment tips in this cane. So if you are shopping at a store look for 7/8 replacement crutch tips. Oh I bent a cane because I thought they were sturdy enough to use as a crow bar, but they are not a crow bar. I am using the bent one, but have ordered a replacement. LOL ... show more

  • Heavy, cannot return!
Bought cane for someone who had a stroke. He did not like the cane because he said it was too heavy. I tried to return cane and found out it cannot be returned (not sure why?). If you want a sturdy and heavy cane, buy it.

  • Tough and sturdy and can handle 500 lbs. [Four year update]
Okay, I have only had this one day. And there are things that are not perfect. So why did I give it a five? Because it is everything that it claims to be and more. It is a bit heavy. And I would like a slightly softer grip. But the grip is fine for most people. I showed it to friends [who use canes] and they all liked it. It is VERY sturdy. Not at all like the cheap lightweights that you might see. It has a double button adjustment for height, with a twist [knurled] thing to tighten it up. NO looseness, no rattle at all. The rubber tip is big and tough and plenty to give stability when walking. It is rated at 500 LB and I believe it. It is made in China [of course] but the workmanship seems better than average. I do not know how it will do it the long run, but it is tough and I imagine that it will be around a long time. There is a lifetime warranty card with it. I do not know if I am supposed to talk about price. But I got this on Amazon for < $17. I have seen bariatric canes like this for $45 or more. So, a bit heavy, but rightly so, because it is tough and sturdy and can handle 500 lbs. I like it. [Four year update] I have two of these canes. I keep one in the car and one in the house. [In case I lose one or forget one] I have been using them for about four years now. I bought spare tips but have not needed them. The canes look like I bought them yesterday. I liked them new, and I like them still. [And cost is less than $15 - amazing.] ... show more

  • Perfect For Its Intended Use
I am a big man with crippling osteo arthritis. My biggest problems are with my hips, knees and feet. Not ready for a wheel-chair yet though. I try to walk as much as possible at least 5 days a week for exercise, and everywhere else I go during day to day activities. Unfortunately, after years of ups and downs, I have reached the point where I must use a cane for support wherever I go, and to minimize the continuing advancement of the disease. I have several canes which I use selectively depending upon the circumstances. Most, although they serve the purpose, are not really up to my size and weight. When I ran across this heavy duty and relatively light weight cane, as compared to it's strength and capacity, acquiring it was a quick decision. Especially at the amazing price of $14 and change. I prefer the basic black over the fancy patterns normally seen in most retail stores. It's a tool, not a fashion statement. This tool is perfect for me. The handle material is a heavy duty synthetic rubber, compared to the foam handles on most other canes of this design. Very durable with a sure grip. A seriously adequate, Larger than normal suction style rubber grip-tip on the end ensures a non-slip support. I use it on one of the lower adjustment settings, but it is made to accomodate a much taller person if necessary. To sum it up: This is one of the most well made and sturdy products of its kind that I have ever seen. Products available in retail stores are "Band-Aids" by comparison. This is a great product at a great price. If you need walking assistance that is a cut above the average, this is it. Buy it. ... show more
