It can adjust down to a very short length (although I'm not sure it would be short enough to accommodate somebody under 5 ft without some permanent adjustments. Ideal cane to aid in hip replacement recovery or another short term use. Easy to adjust height. The foam grip, however, began splitting after about a month, hence the four stars. Would therefore not recommend it for long term usage.
