I’ve had to return a few of these, because the base was not heavy enough for the height of scratch post-this was easy to put together. The rope is nice and tight….Asia, 17 mos…small tabby-but wild- the way she charges this cat Post…I don’t think a much larger cat could really handle it~not unless the cat was just going use it as a scratch post-you could always reinforce the base-I am very pleased with it! ... show more

We have three cats. I bought this scratching post about a year ago and it's getting a little ragged but not too bad yet. When it does get to the point that I think it needs replaced I'll buy the same one again, so that tells you what I think of it.

My cats love the scratching post. They have a ball climbing it and of course using it as intended. It seems to be a quality post, but my cats tore the little hanging balls off rather quickly. I bought two because the cats need somewhere to take care of their claws instead of my furniture!

Although it comes with a neat screwdriver it's kinda a pain to assemble. Instructions are minimal and I had to look at the picture of the actual product to figure out how to put it together. Sturdy enough for a kitten, not sure about a full grown cat though.

I bought the smaller version of this for my cat- she is about 7lbs and while she can't do a full stretch she still uses it. I placed this in front of my living room chair so that she will use the post instead and it works most of the time. I chose the shorter one as it is about the same level as my chair and won't look awkward in the living room.
