  • NATURE-THEMED STRATEGY GAME: In Meadow, you and your friends set out to explore nature while documenting all the beautiful flora and fauna you encounter. Collect your memories in your journal and return to the campfire to share what you saw. The most beautiful collection wins.
  • CHALLENGING & COMPETITIVE: Meadow is a drafting game where youll try to build the most beautiful collection of animal and plant life. Choose carefully, your selections will be limited by other players, your tokens, and the types of animals and plants youve already collected.
  • FUN FOR ALL AGES: Meadows elegant design is easy to learn. However, it offers depth in restricting what players can draft to what tokens players have available to use and what locations have already been taken by other players. This allows for more complex decision making when playing with skilled players.
  • BEAUTIFULLY IMMERSIVE ARTWORK: Meadow contains over 180 cards featuring hand-painted, watercolor pieces of art. Meadows elegant graphic design allow for the majority of the card art to be displayed with minimal iconography or text. Meadow is as much a joy to play as it is to look at.
  • NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: This fun nature-themed strategy game for adults and kids is designed for 1 to 4 players and is suitable for ages 10 and older. The game takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes to play.

Description

Experienced nature observers bravely roam the area in search of plants, animals and various curiosities. They eagerly use their knowledge - in the meadows, among the grasses, they can spot small rodents, and since they are here, maybe a buzzard, a fox or even a viper will appear in a moment! Meadow is a board game in which players take the role of wanderers watching nature. Equipped with a map, they stroll through the picturesque surroundings, looking for inspiration and capturing breathtaking views. Players are driven by passion and curiosity, but also by competition for the title of the keenest nature observer! It will be awarded to whoever scores the most points from the observed species of animals and plants, landscapes and souvenirs collected from the hike. Competition continues by the fire, where players compete in achieving the goals of their expeditions.

  • Easy to Learn and Addictive
We got this game on based on a recommendation from my daughter before we headed off on a month-long trip. In the month we’ve had the game, we’ve played it over 20 times. We’ve already gotten our money’s worth. In addition to being fun to play, the setup and takedown are particularly easy. We have other games that take a good bit of time getting things ready. This is not that. You can get to the gameplay almost immediately. ... show more

  • Over-hyped
When I first heard about this game I was very excited about it. When I read about the mechanisms I was less enthused because it sounded like I would be basically matching icons. A lot of reviews on Youtube claimed the game is super thematic so I decided to try out. The game is sort of thematic, but in the end, it came down to matching icons. Maybe that can be said about most games but I didn’t really feel the theme come through. The artwork is nice and that may be enough for some. Compared to Wingspan, I believe the artwork is done using watercolor which to me is less labor intensive than colored pencils which is what is used in Wingspan. I like that therr are different types of wildlife in the game but there are other nature-themed board games. One of the main mechanisms is the drafting from the center board. Mechanically it is interesting but thematically it’s lacking. Maybe I need to play this game 20 times for me to begin to appreciate it, but currently it hasn’t been a game we have been dying to play and it gets passed up by other games. I would recommend this game if you like nature-themed games and the drafting mechanism is something that really appeals to you - as in you think it would be fun to do. If you’re looking for a game similar to Wingspan I couldn’t recommend this game. It’s similar because both games have pretty artwork. Another game that has a grid of cards you draft from is Cat Lady or Dog Lover - they are short, cute games that really focuses on the grid drafting. Another game where you match icons and those icons get you other icons include 7 Wonders and Splendor. Though they are not nature-themed, I enjoy the gameplay of those games way more. A different nature themed game that I find more enjoyable is Ark Nova (heavier complexity) or Endangered (co-operative). ... show more

  • Great game, surprisingly deep
Great game, don't let the cute artwork fool you.

  • kinda reminds me of wingspan
kinda reminds me of wingspan since it also has simple rules and really amazing art. This gets played a lot as 2p in our household.

  • Beautiful to Look At, and Fun to Play
In Meadow, each player is building a tableau of cards which replicate the ecosystem of a meadow, starting with the various types of terrain, plants, insects, reptiles and amphibians, all the way to top-of-the-food- chain predators, like hawks and wolves. Evidence of human presence is also reflected by cards representing roads, houses, and even interesting artifacts left behind. The art in this game is amazing! Some of the animals pictured are so cute you just want to hug them! The gameplay is challenging, but not overly so. The player always has several options to choose from. The game looks great, and plays great. It has become one of my favorites! ... show more

  • It's just OK.
It's fine. This one had some stellar reviews, which I think were unjustified. I'd give this a 5-6 out of 10. There are several other games around this weight I would prefer, Century Spice Road, Quacks, Cascadia, Lords of Waterdeep are some examples. I don't dislike the game, but I don't find anything that really sets it apart, and certainly don't see the value when compared to many other games at the same or lower price point. ... show more

  • Great fun! Full of beauty.
The rules were a little too fiddly for my mother, but my friends all love it! Everything was easy to put together and the cards are beautiful. Only complaint is that there was a slight tear on the last page of the rules book when I opened it. ButI can live with it.

  • Great as a solo game!
I love gaming but don't always have a group that can get together. Meadow is a super fun solo game that is also strategically challenging. Highly recommend!
