I keep your reading glasses on the top of my head when not reading during the day, and that will destroy the earpieces on most glasses very quickly. These flexible earpieces have held up very well. They also are easy to manipulate so that they stay on top of my head securely without slipping off. These are narrow readers so you can easily see over them. No need to push them down or take them off if you want to look at the TV, etc. They do not have spring hinges but the arms are very flexible so they have a similar comfort fit to spring hinges. The frame is plastic, as are the lenses. One cool feature is that the end of each arm is covered in a silicone material that has lots of tiny ridges. This works very well to keep your glasses from sliding down your nose. They stay in place.
