  • Fuse is too heavy for wire gauge
The fuse is oversized for the wire gauge. A 12 AWG wire in a boat should carry no more than 25 amps if the run is <6 feet (instruments) from the battery and back, and and even less if the run and return are longer, according to the standards set by the American Boat and Yacht Council. For whatever reason, Amazon won't allow me to post the actual reference. ... show more

  • Selectable wire lengths
One thing I didn't realise when ordering this is that it comes with both ends of the wire attached together in a loop. You have to cut the wire. This allows you to cut the wire wherever you like, putting the fuse closer to one end than the other, or in the middle, or anywhere in between.

  • Not copper wire
The set I got does not appear to have copper wire.

  • Nice, But......
These have 12 gauge wire which is good for 20 amps according to the NEC, however, the wire length is only a few inches in and out. The resistance of the wire alone should not be over .0016 ohms per foot. One more thing... the connectors used to hold the fuse are most likely only rated at 20 amps as best I was able to find. I am not using them for more than 10 amps so they are fine for my purpose.. but I would caution anyone wanting to use these for higher than 20 amps continuous. ... show more

  • Replace the Fuse
I agree with the other reviewer. 12 gauge wire should be limited to 20 amps. A 30 amp fuse is too heavy for these lead wires. Simple to replace with proper size fuses, so still a useful product.

  • Great price and very handy to have in the shop.
Great price and handy. It is nice to have spares in the shop. I just needed a couple for LED driving lights. The spares are a plus and I will be ordering more since friends are talking me out of them. They will now go in my roll-away and not on my personal parts wall. ;-) I am not a business but I do have many projects going on. Thanks ! ... show more

  • Excellent quality
It's being used in a ride-on toy mod. You can see the inline fuse in the bottom right of the photo. Thick 12 gauge wire, excellent quality. Fuse for each included. Easy to use and setup. Must have item.

  • Easy to Use Inline Fuse
I used the fuse for protection of a solar LiFePO4 battery system. It was easy to install simply by cutting the wire at the halfway point, stripping the ends, and then crimping into terminals. Having the 30A fuses supplied with the holder kept me from having to make an additional purchase.
