great leash, buy it. we have a strong 50 pound dog and had this leash for 2.5 years now. we walk a path on some sidewalk but otherwise grass, pebbles and street concrete/asphalt. we live up north and get quite a bit of rain 9 months a year. we walk 2x a day no matter the weather. the leash occasionally drags or I'll step on it while my other hand is occupied, as my dog would wander and wants to run after delivery trucks, landscapers or anything being toted behind a truck. for me, the leash is holding up very well. the clip for the harness still operates smoothly as does the swivel. there is minimal wear showing although I've somewhat abused the leash. the 2 rubber protectors on the leash have slipped off occasionally but no big deal just takes a second to slide them on. no points deduction! we purchased the 10 footer in black/white and consider this leash a good value to date. ... show more

Have had this leash for over 2 years with my ~80 lb golden. I took off the handle cushion almost immediately as it was pretty cheap. But zero damage to the physical rope that gone though numerous rain and snow storms. Good product

I love this leash. This is my second one. My dog chewed off the soft handle covering on the first one. It is comfortable and durable. I like the seven foot length. I wish that this length was available in colors other than black.

I have had this leash over a year (16 mos, actually). My Husky mix was about 45 lbs when I first used this and now he is about 85 lbs. Lots of energy at 20 months, and he constantly bites and chews and pulls on this leash. It doesn't show any signs of damage, though the foam on the handle is kinda weak, any teeth get on it and it starts to shred. Still, as a leash it works great and holds up well. I'll probably wrap the handle.section with some leather and stitch it up. Overall, happy with this. ... show more

Not so sure about the chew proof part as we don't put the leash where our pit/lab mix can get it. However, I don't think it would stand up to an aggressive chewer like our dog. As far as leashes go though, this one is AWESOME! We have went through 5 retractable leashes (for large dogs) on a 60 lb. dog. She has snapped them all. We have one left and have basically quit using it since getting this leash. It is very sturdy and dries well when it gets wet. The only down side is that unless your dog is fully extended to the end of the leash length, you will have to wind up the excess leash to keep from stepping on it or having it drag through mud, water, grass, whatever surface you are on. We have gotten this one wet and it has held up fine. It is a little heavier than the retractables but when you have a 60 lb. dog yanking on the end of it, you appreciate the solid feel of this leash. P.S. She doesn't yank on it all the time. She just likes to see if she can catch the bunnies. She is usually a very well behaved dog. ... show more
