  • Interesting idea whose time has not yet come
Ok, but finicky. As other reviews state, do not expect to take this out and start playing with it right away. After downloading the app you will quickly find that things like light reflecting off a picture frame, iPhone screens, your TV etc. will register as strokes of the light pen. These will create a spaghetti of squiggly lines on screen. The first challenge of this game is finding a place in your home with really good indirect lighting, and no glare, in which to play - also no green in the background or anyone wearing green. If you don’t have a smart device with a decent sized screen you will need to use a [smart] TV to mirror your device in order to play with multiple people. Make sure your devices are compatible with the game and with each other before you buy. This seems to me like a game concept who’s technical time has not yet come. I can imagine a version in AR or VR that would be interesting. The game-play itself is ok, with ways to balance it for kids to play against adults, including adjustable timers with more time to draw for kids at different developmental levels, and more challenging words for adults to convey. The directions suggest that kids play in “selfie mode” watching themselves in the device, which is a good thing. It’s pretty difficult to draw a picture in the air with a light pen that leaves no physical trace. The light pen you receive in the box is fairly low quality and I can foresee a future in which I will be wiring up a flashlight with green and red LEDs because the light pen broke. The cards are ok. A storage case, or even a cardboard box, would have been a very welcome addition. If you have kids you will know what I mean. Bottom line: For now, you are better off playing Pictionary with pen and paper. The gimmick of being able to draw in the air is nice but not a paradigm changing element. ... show more

  • Box is Cheap Cheap Cheap
Bought as a gift, but had to find something else. The box is super thin and cheap.

  • Hard version of pictionary
Our family loves pictionary but this version was harder. The pen would write when we were not trying to. We had trouble with the app connecting. Had troubles with erasing.

  • Fun family game!
I bought this to play at Christmas. I have grand children 6-10 so I wanted something they could all play. We played it as a family of 12 everyone had a blast! The kids liked the pictures to help understand the word if they weren't sure about the item. We did not use the app for your phone as I think that would have been harder to see. I had easel paper I taped a yard stick to the back leaned it against a table. I would highly recommend this game for a fun family night! ... show more

  • Difficult to play
This game is a ot of fun and the idea is amazingly cool and simple... however the technology seems to be off here. If there is a light anywhere, like red, green, blue, etc....it will pick it up...so for example on Christmas it's impossible to play this game if you decorate your home. Also damn near everything has some sort of LED light on it ( TVs, charges, sound bar...etc). It's kind of a pain to get someone into the right position to where it doesn't distort the image being drawn. Drawing in the air is already incredibly difficult. So yeah, this game is super fun idea, but in practice not as much. ... show more
