    • Fantastic alloy bat!
We've had this bat for about a year and my son has used it in a LOT of games. This is a workhouse of a bat and my son has hit more multi-base hits with this than his Cat X composite "upgrade" that we bought about six months later. He uses the Cat9 exclusively when the weather dips below 60 and the alloys absolutely outshine the composites in those conditions. My son also enjoys the feel and balance of this bat over his CatX, so I'll be interested to see what he does when the weather warms back up. I did weigh this bat and it's spot on accurate at drop 10 (unlike the composite which is about a full ounce heavier and really a drop 9). Better balance, accurate weight, and works year round - hard to beat this one. It might have a smaller sweet spot than the composite and I noticed some mishits can cause some hand sting, but those aren't often. ... show more

You won't find a better bat in this price range. The Cat 9 is the best metal bat on the market. My 14u son came from the Cat 8 to the 9 and absolutely loves it. He says it has great pop, with no vibration.

So I recently bought this bat, 28” drop 10 for my 10 year old as he transitioned to 10u travel baseball. For years prior we had to always use USA bats. Hearing all the hype about “pop” from usssa bats I decided to give this a try for him. The bat arrived and immediately you can tell the quality in the build. The grip on the bat is perfect and it feels extremely balanced. His first practice he hit numerous pitches and immediately you could hear the distinguished “ding” from contact. The balls had much more exit velocity coming off his bat. After practice he was like, dad I love this bat. It hits great and does not sting my hands. That’s all I needed to hear. Yep, my 12U son hit a HR his first at bat with this CAT9. We had taken some BP after getting it and he put 3 over the fence but this was literally his first in game at bat with it. I know it won’t happen every time but what a confidence booster. He loves the bat and hit has a great sweet spot. Now all the kids are wanting one. This is our 3rd CAT. We’ve had a couple CAT 7’s and they’ve held up really well. He outgrew one and the other is a -5 we’re still using. The CAT9 is a -8 so it allows a little more bat speed. My son plays 8u travel and he absolutely loves his bat! Before we got him his own, he would always use his teammate’s Cat9 and he kept begging us for one. So for his 8th birthday we surprised him! Great pop!

My son plays 11U. We first spent the extra money and went with the Cat9 2 piece connect and had mild success. About 5 of his teammates have the Cat9 1 piece and the pop was dramatically noticeable. I work with the boys during batting practice and the pop is quite significant. We returned the 2 piece in exchange for the 1 piece and have about 5 games under our belt with much more pop off the bat which has provided some much needed confidence as well. ... show more
