    • Overall decent desk
Seeing how I ordered this desk sight unseen and took a shot it would be a good desk, I'd say overall this desk is decent to pretty good. The construction of the desk is very solid - it weighs a ton - and outside of getting the styrofoam blocks out to be able to open the drawers and install the legs, wasn't bad to put together. Most people will need another person to put it together. Finish seems good in the month I've had it, but can't yet speak to long-term durability of it. It's a great looking desk. Drawers are a little stiff to open and close, but don't take long to become easier to use. Where I'd say this desk falls short is in three key areas: 1) The placement of the power strip on the right return is idiotic, it's right where I put my double-monitor stand, making it useless. Would work better if it was either to the right, or installed on the backside vertical piece of the desk. Even if you have two stands for two monitors, it's still be functionally useless. Wish I'd thought about that before buying it, might not have done so. I ended up removing it, and thankfully the base of my stand is more than large enough to span the open area. 2) Similarly, placement of the holes for cords is also not well thought out, since those on the left side of the desk are where' you're likely going to want put things, like a phone, desk lamp, etc., and thus the holes are in the way. 3) If you're anyone over the height of 5'6" or so in height, you'll likely find that either of the two keyboard trays are too low and useless, because your legs won't fit unless you drop your seat down, and then the trays become non-ergonomic. Forget about using the surface of the desk, it's too high for comfortable all-day typing on, even if you're 6'3" like I am, with long arms. I ended up having to remove the tray on the right return and install an articulating keyboard tray, so that I had a high-enough surface to put my keyboard and mouse on. That meant I had to cut out part of the front under-support to have the holding base fit front-to-back. Finally, one thing that isn't obvious from the pics and description, is the desk has a grainy surface - which means you can't write on paper without punching through it. This desk is sturdy and well made. Looks very nice. The assembly is very easy but turning it right side up and attaching the return are definitely two person jobs. I'm still not sure any desk should cost this unless it comes assembled or does at least some of my daily work for me. From a budget perspective I did consider it a splurge, but I'm glad I bought it. ... show more

Overall I loved the desk. It's really beautiful, solid, well made, and the right amount of rustic for our interior design. Some small things worth noting: There was a small chip in one of the drawers. The top is not completely smooth, so writing on it or rolling a mouse is not going to be a perfect experience.     • Great for home office
Got this for our home office. Easy to assemble (just have to put the legs on and then a few screws to connect the two pieces - drawers already attached - 30 minutes tops). Drawer space is sufficient. Seems very sturdy. I found the built in plug/charging port helpful Would definitely recommend.

    • One plug does not work
I love the desk, however, one of the plugs in the power strip on the desk doesn't work. I don't want to take the whole desk apart and try to package and return it because one plug doesn't work. It is a bit disappointing since there's only 2 plugs and 1 doesn't work.

Bought this for a home office and am very happy. It's very well made and easy to assemble. I hope the finish proves to be durable over time. Only suggestion would be to include a small bottle of scratch cover.
