I’m 74 years old and this is my first marimba. I wanted a keyboard type of instrument to use along with acoustic guitar, etc. I’m very happy with it’s sound! The rubber mallets make a clean clear mellow sound. One of the main reasons I chose this 32 key marimba is because it has lower notes than the other 32 key marimbas. The lower notes make for a richer fuller sound.

I could give this less stars, but real vibes/xylophones/marimbas cost from $3000 to $10,000, for a full, 4.5 octave set, and for this price, for the proper person, they're OK. These are 37 note wooden marimbas, with a soft, mellow sound, and are labelled with the respective notes. Clearly, they are for beginners, and best suited for kids aged 8 to perhaps 13, who want to get into melodic percussion, school band/school Jazz band, etc. They're a bit cheaply made, (the undersides aren't completely stained, and the wood is not flat and straight), but they sound all right in an acoustic setting. They come in a decent zippered case, and the stand is sturdy and easy to adjust. TEMU has this identical item for $40 less, and they call it a "glockenspiel," which is an inaccurate term. So as long as you don't think you are getting a "serious instrument," you won't be disappointed. If your child gets dedicated to learning this type of melodic percussion, they'll grow out of this quickly, which is fine, and you can donate this to the music program at an elementary school. be prepared to subsequently spend real money for vibes. I got this to give to a local charity, that uses art and music to give community, hope, and connection to homeless kids in my city. They were happy to receive it.

Beginners' xylophone. It is a xylophone (made from wood not metal). Includes the note names on the marimbas. Includes 2 sets of mallets and a carrying case. It doesn't arrive in perfect condition. The outer box was heavily damaged and while the xylophone was in a padded carrying case, the corners of it did get a bit scuffed. It needs better packaging. The stand is obviously made for it and is adjustable. It isn't professional or perfect, but a very nice instrument.
