These would get five stars if I weighed 160 pounds. The workmanship and materials come together and you get a nice boot for a lighter person. They must have used “memory foam” in the foot bed and at over two hundred pounds on asphalt and concrete all day they are useful for only a very short time. I have received many compliments on their appearance. I will try some inserts and only wearing them to the store or going to dinner to get more service from them.

For the price the uppers and lining are great value for money. Construction-wise, the shoes don't hold up to even the most mediocre known brands. For example, the throat is poorly designed so that the laces are always loose at the front. The vamp is also oddly shaped, making it a bit tight on the bridge. I'm not really complaining and maybe it'll improve once I break it in. The defects are negligible when you're occupied. In other words the failings are not distracting. For the price, what can you expect? I would actually not recommend this brand if you have other ways of being frugal (buying better brands on clearance, etc.). As it is it's unfair to complain.
