I bought these blanks to make pipes, I also bought mahogany, walnut and Padauk from the same place. Alas a board was required for a Xmas gift so Im using up all the maple and mahogany. All the blanks were perfectly square all the way around along the whole stock. Quality milling. The dimensions on the 4 faces (Width and hight) are not perfect, there is about a 16th of an inch beyond 2 inches on one side, but they are all at least 2 inches as advertised. They are all slightly longer then advertised. One of the maple blanks had visible markings of the milling, but it was on the thicker side so when I cleaned it up with the plane I still got the 2 inches needed. One of the pictures shows an end-grain cutoff sanded to 180 and with mineral oil applied, Im pretty pleased with the grain patterns specially on the mahogany. On the negative side, a picky person would have given them four stars because of the minor details, and also because they took a long time to arrive, and lastly because I thought they were a bit pricey. I liked the grain. I used them for legs on a table I made. I did not turn them. They l Help my piece have a simple look. That is what I wanted to achieve.

These four pieces were straight and true, but as finish sanded furniture stock, they need some help. I read this very thing from another revue, and found it true. I ordered the next larger size and ran them through the surface sander to remove 3/16" to clear up some rough sawn spots. Other than that, knot free, straight lumber. thanks greatly for lumber that is difficult for me to locate. Excellent. ... show more

Pure Junk! Would give Zero Stars if I could. Blanks were supposed to be 2”x2”x12”. Pieces actually measured down as low as 1.910” on one side x 2.030” on the adjacent side, and were not even decent rectangles. Pieces looked more like trapezoids. Serious quality control would certainly have been nice. Looks like these pieces were cut by 3rd graders. Extremely disappointed! Absolutely useless for my project. I would have accepted 2” +/- .010 but almost .100” undersized? Don’t waste your money. I shipped them back for a full refund. ... show more

The quality of the wood is great. It's a bit on the harder side if your looking for quality and sustainability of wood. As me turned te wood is hard so if working with it you might need more effort.
