  • Perfect to keep in your kitchen drawer for typical household screw driver use or in your glove box.
Great little very versatile secret driver set that is of what seems to be very good quality that’s typical of Makita. The case keeps the screwdriver and nut setters very well organized and very solid case . Very comfortable to hold and the bits and nut drivers fit snuggly on screws and bolts/nuts . The ratchet driver works very well and smoothly . Case and tools look very nice and solid . Great price for a set that’s priced cheaper than many no name brands . ... show more

  • Great Little Ratchet set
Perfect set to go along with my makita power tools. I bought this set to keep in our junk drawer for any small project me and my wife may need it for. Quick and easy to grab and has plenty of bits. Ratchet works great!

  • Decent set
Decent set in terms that you get a manual ratchet and plenty of common size bits, many of which more than 1 so if you break some you don't have to stop and run to the local store, you can simply grab another and replenish later on as you go. The ratchet itself is "ok" but feels a bit on the cheap end, compared to an older manual ratchet that I have from Craftsman - that one has a solid shaft and about 5-6" of length, which really helps in many cases around the house, where the Makita one feels lightweight in comparison, almost like it's made from aluminum vs steel on the Craftsman, and the Makita shaft is short, around 3-4" or so (don't have either on me at the moment to measure). I appreciate the lightweight which helps with fatigue but I also need strong tools, so time will tell if this one holds up or breaks apart (fingers crossed). The grip on the Makita is way better than my old Craftsman and this is why I bought it. The Craftsman's all plastic grip often slipped before I could tighten things down enough. There is a separate bit holder in the Makita set which can be used as an extension, but it's a bit holder like the ones you see for a chuck on a drill, so to put this at the magnetic end of the ratchet makes little sense to me and doesn't feel like a proper and secure (or even straight) extension (it's like connecting 2 hex shank bit holders together if you know what I mean, lots of wobble). This extension will come in handy on my drill though, but again, why is it here in this set? I must be missing something but with no instructions provided I'll never know what. It's also nearly impossible to remove from the box as it's held very tightly and right along the edge of the box so you have to pry it out with a screwdriver or something to get it out. These little things appear very minor but anything that makes you stop working on your project to get up go get another tool and so on to move forward is a real pain and wastes time. One other item, nothing on the surface that holds the bits is labeled, so you don't know what's what until you take one out - while you can tell what most of them are beforehand, not all are easily distinguishable to the avg DIY - not a deal breaker but would be convenient if the bit sizes were labeled on the box. Overall though, a good set and if you don't have a manual ratchet yet, have no fear, this is a solid offer at this price point, esp as you get a nice case to keep it all together (my old Craftsman has no case, so I almost lose the bits which are on a belt holder, from the ratchet all the time). Go for it. ... show more

  • Compact, Tough, and Ready for Anything
I have used the Makita B‑50289 47‑piece Ratchet and Bit Set every single day on woodworking projects, small‑engine repairs, and countless quick fixes around the farm, and it performs flawlessly each time. The low‑profile ratchet feels solid in the hand, and the direction selector gives a confident click that makes work in tight spaces easy. Every common bit size is included: Phillips, Torx, slotted, hex, square, plus nut‑driver sockets, all arranged in a palm‑sized case that stays shut in your toolbox yet opens quickly when you need it. The ¼‑inch quick‑change holder even lets me snap the bits straight into my impact driver when a manual ratchet is not enough. Durability is outstanding. After months of abuse, none of the bits have rounded, and the ratchet still spins smoothly. The case has survived multiple drops off my tailgate without popping open. One word of caution: do not leave the set outside overnight. The bits are alloy steel, and prolonged moisture will cause surface rust sooner than you might expect. Keep it in a dry place or toss in a silica packet, and this Makita kit will remain your go‑to problem solver for years. ... show more
