I love the keepsake box! This makeup kit is great for beginner teenagers. I love that almost everything that you'll need is included. The pigment of the shadows is great for beginners but if you’re a novice or expert, you can build the colors up. This is a great price for what’s all included, but, if you’re looking for something more professional, this isn’t for you.

Blue box Cute makeup gift for tweens wanting to try out makeup. The box is nice for little girls but obviously not high end. It has a neat locking feature for "safe keeping" and includes a variety of products for a newbie to delve into. Plenty of eyeshadow colors to experiment with. It comes with eye shadow foam applicators which is okay for the younger crowd but you can add brushes (which I prefer). Blushes, bronzer, highlighter and contour are in the bottom tray along with a lip pencil, eye liner, lip gloss and a small tube of mascara. The eyeliner pencil was super smooth and better quality than some of the cheaper versions at the drugstore. The lip pencil went on smoothly as well and is very light in this kit (see pic). There is a functional brush of useable quality—nothing plush but will get the job done. The box itself is sturdy and includes metal components. The exterior covering feels slightly padded and has a bit of sheen/sparkle to it which makes it glam for those young girlie girls. The interior covering is well attached and clean with neat seams, etc. The material inside, though, is like the disposable face mask material (dimpled). So, it has some cheap feeling in areas like the thin plastic trays which are a bit awkward to remove (especially from the bottom compartment) and though the colors are in metal pans, I do wonder how long it will hold up with handling. But, again, for the intended target this is right in line with what I would expect and feel appropriate for that age. If you don't want to start your child off with top brands while they learn, this is a good kit with a variety of the major components. $26 seems an okay price since you can reuse the box but think around $15-20 would be better. I would note there is no handle on the box.

I have been experimenting with my makeup looks lately and Color Nymph has been a go-to brand for me for these purposes. I have already used the black train case with the pink eye palette, the black sequined purse with the blue eye palette, and the lip gloss and oil collection. I have loved all of them. So, of course I wanted to try this adorable little lockable box with the green eye palette. I am just as happy with this set as I have been with all the other Color Nymph sets I have used. They have great color saturation while offering very natural looks. Their products go on well and have good longevity throughout the day. I have never had an adverse reaction to any of their products and I have very sensitive skin. This gift box is probably best suited to a teen. It gives that little bit of privacy which is always attractive, particularly for anyone growing up with siblings prone to "borrowing" their makeup. The color range in this box is very natural leaning toward autumnal colors. Everything you need for a simple look is in this set. It would be great for beginners but is very useful for your experienced makeup artist, as well.

This kit provides a variety of make up so its a great starter kit for the make up enthusiast! It has a ton of eye shadows and several blushes so you can see what compliments your skin tone the best. The box is very attractive and when you open the box, the products expand up to allow you to see all the contents. The added lock and key was a bonus for those that want to lock it all up for safe keeping.
