  • Great mailbox alert
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
This mailbox alert is great. It is easy to set up. You plug it in and there is a button on the side that you can select the sounds. The transmitter that you put in the mailbox is easy to set up. You pull the tab to activate the battery and it pairs immediately. I like that you dont need wifi. After attaching it to the mailbox door it works immediately. As soon as the door is opened you get an alert. It says you got mail. It has a blinking blue light until you push the reset button. My husband likes how easy it is to use and now we know when the mail has come. This is a great buy if you worry about mail thieves. ... show more

  • Works Great!
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
It was difficult to see the mailbox delivery flag since the P.O. now is delivering here at 7:30 pm, too dark. I don't even look at the mailbox anymore, just check the receiver for the flashing light. The light stays on until I turn it off. There are a large selection of alert sound but no idea how to find them except trial and error because nothing listed in the instructions or on the sale page. ... show more

  • Alarm plays unknown sound (not mailbox open notification) continually
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
My initial delight quickly turned to disappointment. The set up and initial check of the device was completed without any problems and the Mail box alarm function worked perfectly. The problem is that later that evening, the receiver started playing a melody continually (the same melody played when the volume/pairing button is pressed, different that the "You have mail" and a simple chime when the box is opened). After repeated attempts to shut the "notification"(?) off, I moved the receiver to a different outlet about 20 feet away but the melody almost immediately restarted. I unplugged the receiver overnight and the next day, tried resetting the receiver and then repairing with the transmitter. Initially all seemed well, it did announce next time the mailbox was opened but then later, the continual playing of the melody started again. The user manual trouble shooting section only mentions problems if the mailbox opening notification is failing in some way (It's not). I don't know if I can return the unit at this point, having fully installed it, but it's unusable as it is. ... show more

  • Inclement weather effects operation. Inconsistent operation.
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
1) This item performs well under normal (clear) weather conditions. Rain seems to limit its range. our mailbox is approximately 450' from the house. Well within the stated range. Very pleased with the ease of setup. 2) Follow-up to initial review...Initial unit exchanged due to erratic operation. Second unit performed well for a couple of weeks but then range became an issue. Replaced battery. This worked for a while but has now started to be intermittent. Will be returning unit. ... show more

  • Very sensitive, to the point of annoying
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
It works....sorta. The sensor is VERY sensitive, and it doesn't take much to set it off. On windy days, when someone opens our office door too enthusiastically, or when a large truck drives by, the sensor is triggered and sets off the alarm. We are using this alarm on the inside door of our payment dropbox, which is securely affixed to a brick wall in a small 5x5-ft lobby area, which is up about 8 concrete steps from the sidewalk, which runs parallel to Main St. So large trucks drive by somewhat often, and sometimes the wind will rattle the door a bit. Some days, the sensor only trips once. Other days, it goes off 5+ times. Every day since installing it, we've had to reset the blinking light in the morning, and only once has there actually been something in the dropbox. It feels a little like the boy who cried wolf. I couldn't find any instructions for troubleshooting a too-sensitive alarm, so it appears we're without luck. We do all get a kick out of the cheery "you've got some maaaail" chime that plays, and it does work when the dropbox door is opened.... it just also works when the sensor vibrates when a truck drives by, and that's getting old. ... show more

  • Works well with a 500 foot distance
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
Works well. Mailbox is at least 500 feet from the front of the house. Reception unit is plugged into the external wall and does have a direct line of sight (through the wall) to the mailbox. Note we are uphill and there are trees, but none that directly interfere. The Up arrows are hard to see on the motion unit and when mounting should be aimed to the top of the mailbox when the door is shut. It only requires the mailbox door to tip 45 degrees, not fully open, to trigger the indoor alarm. The alarm comes with a default to silent, so you need to choose one of the three sounds if you want an audible notice and not just the flashing blue light. Very easy to set up. I would buy this again and highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Transmitter NOT fast enough.
Style: 1 Mailbox Alarm 1 Chime
Well our mail carriers are swift at delivering the mail. I saw someone else say the same thing that if the door is opened and closed quickly then it will not register. That is what is happening, it must be because it will not tell me mail has arrived but when I check the mail, it broadcasts loud and clearly that I have mail. I didn't have any issues setting it up, it just connected automatically and seemed to work. Now I need a fix for a product that should have been made to work in every situation. Come on manufacturer, if you can offer me a viable fix I will go 5 stars because it works, just NOT fast enough. ... show more
