    • Poor fit, 409 stainless will rust
*INTERESTED BUYERS READ THIS FIRST* Installed this kit on a 1991 Mustang LX that has direct replacement unequal length shorty headers that fit perfectly on the stock catted H pipe. I installed a stainless UPR X pipe shortly after the header install which fits perfectly to the factory 30 year old cat back that retains the original mufflers, the factory tail pipes stayed in the same location as far as lining up with the rear bumper cover & they were straight as well. Now time to install the Magnaflow 15630 cat back kit 🤦🏻♂️ I have used Magnaflow race bullets on my Fox race car & I love the quality of them so I figured I'd give the cat back a shot. For 630+ dollars I am beyond disappointed with how it fits & the mufflers sound like glass packs when full throttle, almost embarrassing (it sounds like an old Ford pickup with cherry bombs). The flow tubes bolted to the X pipe fine, but trying to get the mufflers remotely close to the factory hangers leaves the mufflers barely clamped onto the flow tubes & the rubber isolators on the hangers are at an extreme angle (i've already had to replace one within 2k miles of street driving due to the angle and stress on the isolater). Same goes for the tail pipes as far as barely fitting into the muffler to have the tailpipe anywhere close to being lined up straight and not sticking inches out of the rear of the bumper cover, and that's with modifying the cheesy slip on 3" tailpipe "beauty pipe". I've also had to replace the tailpipe hanger rubber isolators because they broke from the extreme angle and stress on them. I ended up wrapping them with stainless tie wraps just in case they break again, that way the tailpipes dont rub anymore than they already do on the near immaculate original paint from this lifelong garage kept 1991 Fox. After writing this review and getting all worked up all over again, Im thinking of just ordering a different company's cat back or just ordering some real 304 stainless mandrel bends that won't rust unlike the 409 "stainless" in the $630+ Magnaflow kit that rusts & fabbing my own cat back system that this car deserves. Shame on me for not doing some better research but shame on Magnaflow for such an expensive, poorly fitting kit. The only good thing in this kit are the clamps, at least they splurged for a quality clamp and not a cheapo $2 u bolt clamp. ... show more

Input this on a 530hp supercharged 5.0. You can't go wrong with all stainless construction to start. The system fits great, is WAY more adjustable than othe cat backs, and it sounds amazing. It is nice to have a 5.0 that is not obnoxious, sounds mean as hell, and also does not sound like every othe FlowMaster Mustang out there. I purchased this Magnaflow exhaust system because it is one of the more affordable stainless steel setups on the market. Taking it out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice everything looked and felt. It's almost a shame to install the mufflers because they are finished so nicely. The installation instructions are only a little bit helpful - someone at Magnaflow needs to reconsider the drawings of the exhaust hanger brackets that bolt on underneath the car and mount the rear exhaust tips. The image of the brackets shown in the instruction sheet is as if you were looking at them from the top of the vehicle looking down toward the ground instead of looking up at them from underneath the car as me and a friend of mine initially assumed (and you know what they say when you "assume" anything) and couldn't tell if the exhaust tip hanger brackets were left or right-side specific. I also had some problems trying to route the over-axle portion of the exhaust and aligning the tailpipes, but I don't know if that is mainly due to 80's Ford "production tolerances/variances" or the kit itself. Also not a fan of the 3" exhaust tips. During installation, found the exhaust band clamps required more muscle than I was comfortable with since I was afraid of either stretching the bolts or crushing the exhaust tubing. Was hoping the exhaust system would quiet down the volume compared to the chambered mufflers and dumped exhaust I was running before, and it has, if only slightly. It can still set off car alarms and make little kids cover their ears. Maybe the catted Magnaflow x-pipe sitting on the side will help reduce unwanted sound levels a bit more. At least the horrible drone from the previous setup is almost eliminated and at certain points one can almost have a conversation in the car as things quiet down a tad once the revs pass 1500-1600 rpms or so. These flow-through style mufflers definitely should be paired with a x-pipe instead of a h-pipe. Still, overall I give this 4 stars because while not perfect, this Magnaflow kit does the job sufficiently and is not aluminized steel so it should last longer as the years go by. ... show more

    • Fit is so so, and too quite
I bought this system to replace and 25 year old old DynoMax system. This one didn't fit as well, and took some special attention to install. Also, it is very quite. It's not much loader than the OEM system.
