The comforter is very light weight. So if you are looking for something more substantial, get a real coverlet and insert. We are happy with this as the guest bedroom can get hot. But my in-laws usually only use the blankets and sheets and fold the comforters down or put aside on the chair in the room. Also, liked that it came with a lightweight blanket. That blanket is a tad stiff but softened when washed. I use it cover the white comforter when I fold wash so I don't get the white comforter dirty or dusty with lint. I use the guest bed as my folding and laundry area. The two decorative pillows came in a bag that the air was suctioned out of so you may want to puff up the pillows right away if you want to use the set right away. This set looks great. I do wish that the decorative Sham/case was a large square. It is for a standard pillow. Otherwise it is a nice looking set and the tan/beige is a nice neutral. ... show more

This only got 3 stars because of the overall look, and like other reviewers have said; it is indeed soft. However, the quality is absolutely unacceptable for the price. I am in the interior design industry and for the cost of this set you can shop elsewhere like TjMaxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, etc... for better value. Firstly, I don't know if it's Amazon's packaging or Madison Park but the vacuum seal flattens the potential fluff this comforter set could have had (even after tossing in the dryer as instructed) The pillows remained very flat, and the comforter very thin. Secondly, there's all types of imperfections right out the box: The quality of threading is extremely poor. You would expect this level of sewing on a product from Walmart; absolutely unsatisfactory. I can see this falling apart after a few washes as it has already started unraveling. The pillow cases had stains on them as if it was some type of manufacturing bleeding/transfer. Mind you, even after using OxiClean those stains still remain. Lastly, the coverlet is pretty much a sheet. It's extremely thin, and compared to coverlets that I have/had this is definitely the thinnest one. I would say "Guess you get, what you pay for" but in this case, that's not the case.
