They say the 2-4 star reviews (particularly the 3 star ones) are the best to go off when trying to find out if you should buy an item. That 1 and 5 star reviews typically are written more from emotions about the product/service rather than the actual quality and experience of the product/service. Makes sense, in most cases; but, what about the product/services that actually earn themselves a 5 star bc the quality is amazing?? That’s where this Luxe brush cleaner fits in!! I just began wearing make up again here recently and using makeup brushes...well, it’s definitely a a new way for me! That said, when it came time for me to do my first ever brush cleaning I looked up how to clean them..and I was actually dreading having to clean all of my brushes and then leaving them set somewhere overnight. (I live in a very small 2 bedroom mobile home with my 5 kids (ages 14-1 years old) there is NO extra space to lay out a bunch of brushes, esp to where they would get played with, gone missing, or be completely broken. So, I kept pushing the task off. Then I was reading an article, something like ‘Top 20 Beauty Products Every Woman Needs’ or something along those lines. That’s when I saw this baby! After I read up on them and searched for the best one to get, I settled on this one, the Luxe. I absolutely LOVE it! It’s sooo easy to use and makes brush cleaning far less of a tedious chore. The one I ordered came with a bonus bottle of brush cleaning shampoo, which works so freaking great! I’ve already ran out and haven’t had any luck in locating a bottle of it to buy in its own, except for one that was $35 a bottle and no way I’m paying that much! (5 kids, remember?). So now I use my cheap cleaners/shampoos. Using the bowl and spinning feature to clean them doesn’t work as well bc the cleaner doesn’t work as well as the Luce but it still helps push the cleaner through the bristles. Then using it to clean off the cleaners works great and gets all of the product out of the bristles. Now, using it to dry the brushes after cleaning is AMAZING!!! Takes absolutely NO time to get even thick, big brushes dry! I love it! I can clean, rinse, and dry my big brushes on about 3-5 mins each (see that that time frame also includes DRYING the brushes, meaning after 3-5 mins the brush is ready to use! None of that leaving them laying around for hours and hours!!!). If you hate having to hand clean your make up brishes and dread when the time comes for a good cleaning, this product is def for you! I haven’t had any troubles with the product, has worked perfectly so far. I’ve used it about 4 or 5 different times so far, cleaning at least 5 or more brushes on each use (yea, I have a lot of brushes). Definitely recommend for every woman that uses make-up brushes!!!

I'd rather buy a new set of brushes rather than clean them by hand. I *hated* the process of scrubbing makeup brushes-- never getting them quite clean, quite dry. In time used brushes piled up. I searched high and low for ways to clean and disinfect them but nothing appealed over the years. I have a handful of cleaning products. Unused! I bought a uv sanitizer box but never used it because the brushes had to be *cleaned first*. SMH..... In time though, I started to have eye inflammation or infections. Of course, dirty brushes are suspect number 1. I decided to give Luxe a try. Who wouldn't try dipping a spinning brush rather than hand scrubbing them one by one, then hope they dry without deforming the shape? Wet brushes are hard to dry. If you dry them standing up, water can pool at the base. If you dry them sideways, they clump up and don't seem clean and tidy. I was skeptical of using the same soapy water to clean each brush. So here's my process. I put hot water and a drop of anti-bacterial soap in the bowl. Then, I held the brush under running tap water to rinse, slowly turning the handle with my fingers. Next, I dipped the brush up and down into the bowl on the lowest setting for ten dips. I did the same for medium speed and high speed. At the highest speed the bristles are literally horizontal. A good clean for sure! To be more careful, I then rinsed the brush under running tap water and afterwards I let the brush run at high speed in the sink for a few seconds. Don't worry, there wasn't a ton of water splash. I shield it with my hand so it was all good. I cleaned the water bowl for each brush. I probably cleaned about ten brushes in under 10-15 minutes max. The bristles were clean to the deepest part near the handle and were fluffy dry to my pleasant surprise. To be even more careful, I put the brushes in a uv sanitizer box. It was the *easiest* clean-up ever. The spinning is quite unique and kind of fun. I am at peace that the brushes are cleaned, dry, and sanitized. I have full sets of Sephora brushes and I only used the smallest three rubber handles. Actually the smallest handle was a tight fit for the thinnest brushes. Haven't a clue what the larger rubber handles will be used for. The bowl is made of clear plastic. I used the solution on one brush that had gummy makeup on it. Poof, soft and fluffy. I read that some people buy a second bowl to rinse. I found that a quick rinse under the kitchen tap was more than perfect. The cons: the white main part has a clumsy fit to the base. I wish that part was a bit easier. It came charged so I don't know how the charging process will go. Not sure what to do with all those rubber handles that may never be used. Overall, I can't recommend it enough if you've been resistant to the cleaning makeup brushes. Dip away. There's NO scrubbing. Spin it for a fluffy dry finish. What could be easier! Poof! Soft and fluffy! If you also have eye irritation, Avenova is fantastic. Really works!
