Description

At the turn of the century lumber was a booming industry in a savage land. Upon the unexpected death of his father, Daniel Rimsdale returns home to try and salvage the floundering family lumber business, find out who killed his father and save his family from financial ruin. However, he meets heavy resistance from others who will stop at nothing to become the new Lumber Baron! Review Director Barry Andersson strives for authenticity and achieves it while making this little known history into a worldwide story. --Los Angeles Times The characters are playing exactly the way I wanted them played; they are such good actors --Washington Times Honest and well made. --Milwaukee Sentinel

  • Very good.
A really good hearted film. Happy with it. Warms the heart.

  • It's not an Oscar-winner, but we could use more movies like this
There are some things I could critique about this movie. Like the lumberjacks were too clean - not believable. But then, there was actual chopping down of trees using the old fashioned tools - legit. The settings were beautiful. The acting was stiff at times, but the characters had good depth. The movie tells a very good story about an important time in our country's history. We need more movies that tell these local stories. This one tells the story in a way that I could also let my 12 year old watch it. ... show more

  • Courageous
I really liked this movie and the story was great. The family was tight as thieves despite tragedy. And the eldest son proved to his late father, family and himself that he had what it took to run the business. I would recommend this movie and it’s family friendly.

  • This s a solid story and family oriented film
This movie was a good story. It was a pleasant change from the typical Hollywood movies with extreme violence, vulgar language, sexual, drug content. It was during an interesting time of American history. Definitely a moving to consider viewing for family night.
