For younger players a light bat is key to develop proper swing mechanics. Many kids swing a bat that is too heavy and it shows. This bat has great pop and the drop weight is perfect for kids who require a <27in. bat. Make sure to only hit rubber core flexi-balls (aka tee balls) which most leagues use anyway for a kids aged young enough to use this size bat. ... show more

My 7 yo can really swing this bat but given that it is so light, the ball doesn't pop like I was hoping it would. It's got a big barrel and he can get it around but at contact, the bat almost bounces back a little. Works great for training fast hands though
