This review is for the "Pool Cue Sticks for Adults,Super Straightened Up 58'' 18 19 20 21 oz Billiard Cues Stick Canadian Maple Tacos De Billar Profesional Set of 4/3/2/1 House Bar Pool Que Table Beginner Pool Queue for Sale" that I ordered via the Vine program. I have a table at home and play in local leagues every week, so I’m always looking for decent but affordable cues for friends and family to use when they come over. This cue checked most of the boxes I look for in a guest cue: a proper 19 oz weight, a Canadian maple shaft, a leather wrap, and a clean, understated design. Mine also came with a couple of basic gloves and two pieces of standard Master blue chalk, which was a nice bonus even if they’re nothing special. The cue was advertised at 19 oz and came in at 18 7/8 oz when assembled, which is close enough for me. I checked straightness on rollers and found that the butt, shaft, and joint pin were all perfectly straight on their own. Once assembled, though, there is an extremely slight visible wobble on the rollers. That points to the joint facing not being perfectly flat. It doesn't affect how the cue plays, and it’s something that could be corrected, but at this price point it’s not worth the effort since it’s really just a cosmetic issue. The tip is a solid, non-layered hard leather tip. It wasn’t shaped particularly well from the factory, but that’s an easy fix with a basic tip tool. Once shaped, it held chalk well and played better than I expected. The hit is on the hard side, but I had no issues with miscuing and could apply spin naturally without having to overthink shots. The shaft has a smooth finish with a standard conical taper and a 13 mm tip, so it feels familiar to anyone used to standard American pool cues. The butt is well made, and the leather wrap is applied cleanly with no obvious seams or gaps. I like the overall finish and look of the cue, though I do wish the 19 oz version came in a color other than yellow or gold but that's purely personal preference. Overall, the build quality is better than I expected for the price, aside from the joint alignment issue. This is not a cue I would bring to league night, but it’s perfectly fine for home use, and I’m happy to have it available for friends and family to play with.
