These are good quality products and that's why I gave it 5 stars but a word of caution, they came in a Ziploc bag and when I pressed run my fingers to close it back, after checking them out, I ripped my thumb. It was not a superficial wound. I couldn't understand how I hurt my thumb like that until I noticed there were staples in both ends of the bag. That was unnecessary. No way I could have guessed that. These thread spool huggers help with color coding as well as preventing thread unraveling. The size seems to work for regular size spools and maybe a bit larger.

Bought these and gave 1/5 of them to my sister, we quilt and use a lot of different thread colors. They keep the thread from coming off the spool so it's much neater.

Purchased some a few years ago, from a different vendor, and they have held up well. These cost less, but after comparing the old to the new ones, they are exactly the same. They are fairly small but will fit various sizes of spools. Except very large spools of thread such as serger cones or those used on long arms. TIPS: 1. These do stretch over time, especially on large spools. Keep the stretched ones for use on larger spools. 2. When storing spools with thread savers attached, fewer spools fit in a storage box. That is depending on the type of spools and how they fit in the container. The thread savers are about 1/4 inch at their thickest point when in use. 3. Make sure to place the savers around the loose thread; preferably with the loose thread wound a few times at the same location of the spool. ... show more

These have done a fantastic job so far keeping my spools tangle free. Happy so far. Will be ordering more to do the rest of my spools they will fit, and a few extra for future spools and backups. If I was being nit picky, I wish they had some that were a touch longer for those of us that have many large cones, and possibly some thinner shorter ones for small spools. ... show more
