Description

Sturdy, three-shelf bookcase offers high-quality laminate construction and a contemporary design. Shelves are 3/4" thick and made of 18mm thick, medium- density fiberboard with thermally fused, Mahogany laminate for long-lasting use. The visible, one-piece backing behind the shelves is made with 3mm thick, medium-density fiberboard and matching laminate. Both sides are finished. Bookcase features two adjustable shelves, one fixed bottom shelf, square edges and adjustable feet. Each shelf holds up to 75 lb.

Besides the damaged to the backboard, which is a thin piece of board, the actual bookcase is very nice and sturdy!! It looks great and matches my real wood furniture. It doesn’t look cheap at all. Be prepared to get a little aggravated putting together the bottom(step1). It’s a little confusing and should be broken into several steps with enlarged pictures of the screws by each step.     • Finished back is what I needed
These were nice. I bought two of them and placed them against my too-low staircase banister. With the finished back piece, they look fine as you're going up the stairs, and the shelves hold a lot once you get up on the landing. I have a wide landing so it works.

Box slightly damaged and there is a rack in the back piece..we kept it anyway Some of the holes not well drilled. No holes drilled to affix the back piece…should have been better for the price

The front and sides are nice and as advertised. The back is not. You may be considering this expensive bookcase, as I did, specifically because it is one of the few not super expensive bookcases with a finished back (as opposed to a back that just looks like particle board). That feature was important to me because I knew I would be positioning the bookcase so that both its front and back would be visible. In the 360 image, the back fits seamlessly with the rest of the bookcase. No screws are visible; the whole piece is the same color; and the edge that juts outs slightly at the top--and gives the bookcase more character than a simple square would have--continues from the front and sides through the back. In reality, however, the .5 cm width of the back piece is unfinished yellow particle board that sticks out like a soar thumb against the brown of the sides and top of the bookcase and makes the whole item look cheap and ugly. Also, the back is designed to screw into the edge that juts out, covering it, so the back is flat and lacks character. Also the back piece is very poorly fitted to rest of the bookcase. In parts it sticks out over the sides. In other parts it doesn't come close to the sides. Finally, 24 tiny screwheads stick out from the back piece. All of this is especially frustrating because it could have been avoided with a design that was slightly less stupid. It's as if they got tired after thinking through the front and decided to put no effort into the back. Also, several of the wood pieces arrived cracked or chipped. ... show more
