Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 is particularly suited for applications on less active substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces, where disassembly is required for servicing. From the Manufacturer Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 locks threaded metal fasteners against loosening from machine vibration. I just used this product yesterday, but I don’t think that it’s too soon to rate it. I needed to lock a set screw in place and allow it 24 hours to properly cure. I left an Allen wrench in place atop the fastener to ease access. Today I began to remove the wrench and put the part to work. I didn’t notice when I originally applied the product to the set screw threads, that a minuscule amount made contact with the wrench and surface of the fastener. It was so difficult to remove the wrench that it almost seemed as though it had been welded in place. As such, I have an extreme amount of confidence that the set screw will remain in place as intended. ... show more

I bought this for a stool where the screws kept coming loose. I applied a little bit to each screw and left the stool alone for 24 hours. It’s been several days and the screws are tight. Cant believe all it needed was a little bit of loctite. Great product.

Mostly grabbed this Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 during a half-asleep Amazon scroll after my keyboard chair tried to eject me for the third time. I’m a remote dev and sit way too many hours a day, so loose bolts are not cute. I used a tiny drop on each screw under the chair, spun them back in, waited overnight, then rocked around during standup the next morning. Nothing loosened, nothing squeaked.
