Never used a slumberpod (cost is $$$) and tried this as an alternative. It fits pretty well over my Pamobabe portable crib. Everything seems great about this product, but my big issue with it and returning it is that it keeps the heat in a bit too well. Even with the AC running, upon checking on my baby a couple hours into his sleep, he was very sweaty. This was a great item to have on our vacation in a cabin that didn’t have black-out curtains like the ones in our baby’s room. It’s actually incredibly impressive that the fabric can completely block the light. I can turn on my phone flashlight and set it on top of the stretched fabric, and hardly anything shines through. I love that it has the little peak out window that you can open for when you need to set baby down in the play pen awake so they can still see you. I also appreciate that it ties down to the sides of the pack-n-play to hold it down, but I think Velcro straps would be a solid option for that because the tying is a bit tedious. One other major improvement would be to change the zipper opening in the top to a well sewn-in magnetic opening. My baby still wakes multiple times in the night, and the zipper is loud each time I put baby back down asleep. I would love a way to silently close it because we basically don’t re-close it in the night so that we don’t wake her. I’d also love it if the top opening could be a little bit bigger, but that’s minor. Overall, this was a great purchase, and I’m glad we had it! ... show more

We got this before we went on a long road trip with our 9 month old. It worked super well for blacking out his pack n play. Zippers are great and he never had an issue. Its very light, easy to pack, easy to put on, and easy to work with. No regrets!

We are a military family and moved to Hawaii at the end of June. Knowing we would be living in a hotel and without our things for quite a while I ordered this instead of the ever-popular Slumberpod. Because, that thing is expensive and takes up a lot of room, which I knew we wouldn’t have in a hotel room. Our 1 year old sleeps wonderfully with this on! I used this for my 15 month old while we were staying in a hotel and it was so helpful! Granted he stands up so he didn’t love the top being directly over him but that’s more of an age issue. This is a good alternative to the expensive brands and designs. It works well for what it’s meant to do. It really does keep it darker inside. The only issue I had was the sides and corners, I just safety pinned them down though. There are ties but they didn’t reach around the legs of our pack n play. But I’m sure could work for others. Pre-tie the two vase strings and this is a breeze to add over our pack n play. It can get hot inside, so keep baby near a fan or vent for cool air.
